Question 2 Limps in 2 weeks w/ Procede V3?

Hello everyone.
I have been running the Procede Default Map2 6MT(Stg 0 NonDoomsday NonTorque Nanny Map2 Default 2 9-5-08.pcd) for a few weeks now. Using the default paramaters, no other mods. I'm using 93 octane fuel.

Like the title says, I've received two limp modes in the past two weeks. Both times I was just driving home from work, normal driving, not pushing the car hard at all. Temps in the 60's. When I restart the car, everythiong is fine. I did not have any limps on the previous map. I think I was using "Stage 0 6MT beta 5-22.pcd", and I always switched to Map2 when driving.

Is there some parameter I should adjust? Does anyone know what causes these limp modes? Anyone else having this problem? I tried to search but did not find anything...

Thanks!

Try filling out the support request and have Vishnu work with you on it. At this point, it is most likely unrelated to the PROcede.

Dude when I had my honeymoon (so to speak) with V3 I used to have a couple of limps each hour
Thank God they found out they sent me the wrong harness and since I got it replaced and loaded the "Stage 2 default map 2 non torque nanny non doomsday" map I am finally enjoying the fact I spent my money on the V3.
Good luck, I hope the Godfather (Shiv) will help you out with your issue

+1 definitely call Vishnu, if you getting limps just during normal driving, either something is really wrong with the procede, you got bad fuel or something else is going bad, like your fuel pump, which should be showing up with some long starts also.

Put your bypass plugs in and see if you still get a limp

David, expect my call in a bit.

Sparkling G, if you are having issues, please fill out the tech call back form on our webpage, and I will give you a call back, as well. The forum isn't the best place for trouble shooting.

Thanks,
DB-

there was another dude that always got limps when the tank was low. he hypothesized that the fuel pump overheats in that situation.

If we are thinking about the same guy, his fuel pump was replaced and the problem is now gone.

Definitely very strange; I think 99.5% of V3 customers have been 'limp-free.' There's got to be something else going on with the OP's car to get limp mode with v3, imho. I'm sure the guys @ Vishnu will work with him to get it figured out.

You didn't have a v3 problem, you had a wrong hardware problem. Not a testament to v3 limps IMO.

Correct. He tried running the new maps (with fuel pressure control) on the original v3 harness (without fuel pressure control). We didn't sent any "wrong" harness to him. He (and maybe a dozen others) ordered v3 before we revised the harness to work with the new 29.2/MSD81 ECUs. But the other guys read the instructions and sent their harness back in for replacement instead of posting multiple threads about how we sent them a broken PROcede No harm no foul Andras... just want to set the record straight. Glad everything has been worked out.

Shiv
As per my pm, the early release harness wasn't coping with the preloaded maps my V3 was sent with as well.
I got limps and check engine light on before uploading anything in it, and that of course includes maps I was not supposed to upload with an early release harness.
Just to set the record even straighter

Getting back on topic...

I spoke with Dustin and he recommended I check for loose wiring and reload the V3 software. I will take care of it this weekend. Thanks again Dustin for the quick followup!

I will re-download the software, just in case my original software is corrupted. I will also reload the firmware "pro01v03beta30.bin", as I am still using "pro01v03beta26.bin".

Well, there's your problem right there. AFAIK, the new v3 maps (beginning with the 7-11 maps and followed by the 9-5 maps) all use the updated v30 firmware. In the updated map and firmware instructions, it clearly says to update your firmware first. I would think that using the older firmware with these newer maps could possibly cause a code or limp mode.
