Leccy Shaver Advice

My electric shaver broke just before Christmas so needs replacing asap. I've had Braun ones for years (twin parallel foils & cleaning solution in the base) and have been happy with them but wondered if Im missing a trick. Do most people use this style of shaver or the triangle of circular foil style?

Any top tips? Would prefer it to be under £100 if poss so wondered whether I could grab something in the sales.

Merry Christmas Rog!

I have a Braun 790 CC new in box, I was bought it last year but never used it as always wet shave.

It seems to get good reviews, let me know if you're interested.

I went from a Philips circular head one to a Braun 390CC a couple of years ago - I find the Braun doesn't shave as closely, but I get far less irritation from it than I did from the Philips. Mind, I only switched because I fancied a change - I'd happily go back to Philips. Sorry, that's probably not much help!

Swings and roundabouts.

I use both - I have a Braun at work (on an oil rig), and Philips at home.
I find that if I use one type all the time, my face seems to become accustomed to it and so it doesn't shave as well, missing the odd hair. Changing type restores a close shave. Maybe I'm just odd

£75 sound alright Rog?

I'm OK for a diary this year mate as I was sent two by suppliers of mine. I guess I must have spent a bit more this year than I did last year!

Go for the Braun ones that clean themselves when put back in the base, they are great.

SOLD from the man with the cleaner shaven scrotum . Happy with that mate, ping me your PayPal details and I'll 'gift' it across. Glad you got the diary sorted; always happy to oblige if needed in the future pal.

My wife bought me a Braun one and it tried to rip my face off. I tend to just go for the unshaven look. Drag the clippers over my face while shaving my head every couple of weeks.

I tried Braun too. Could never get on with electric shavers and it seemed to take an age. Always a bit sore too.

Funny, I find the opposite true!! I'm cleanly shaven in the week but have a break on Saturday & Sunday which means a painful wet shave every Monday! Plus, I can just shave each morning whilst half asleep with an electric shaver.

Don't mind a wet shave for a special occassion but not everyday. Suppose it's just what your skin is used to.

Cheers Will. Just a warning to others who buy anything from Will - the post office staff where I collected my parcel found great mirth in this (don't think they even spotted the website address )...

Did he leave the shaver switched on so the box was buzzing and vibrating slightly?
