Here is a filter from Bavauto, I usually buy all my maintenance stuff from them. Not sure what brand it is but I assume its OEM.
http://www.bavauto.com/shop.asp You can also go to autozone if you need a filter right away. http://www.autozone.com/autozone/par.../N-jpkodZ93xk0 -Rob |

MANN Filters = BMW Filters (oil that is, for air Mahle supplies BMW with filters)
Look at any "BMW" oil filter and you will see the proof, same with air filter. Mobil 1 makes canister type only oil filters (as far as I know). I use them in my Murano, good stuff. They have buy oil + filter type rebates every other month or so, big intensive as well. |

Mann Oil Filter = Bmw Filter ????
I thought they were the same . Sure they are the made by the same company but, I have both BMW original & the Mann filters and there is a metal cleat in the HU 816 Mann Filter while the BMW HU 816 with a Mann Stamp does not - it uses a bonded paper cleat to join the seams of the paper filter element. BMW part # is 11 42 7 566 327.
. . There is also a minor height variation most likely within a tolerance band. Mann is slightly longer than the BMW filter. . . I now only buy the BMW filters at tischer in quantity. . . Also of note: Changing manual trans fluid soon with OEM fluid from tischer. Currently at 35K. |

If no codes are being thrown use Chevron Techron fuel injector cleaner (concentrate). It solves rpm fluctuating upon cold start-up. Also, for most BMW problems start off by scanning your car with the Peake Research Tool. It contains the actual BMW codes. If you want to register a newly installed battery for free (just buy a $10 cable) and google/download BMWLogger
