This comment isn't helpful. What would be helpful is to say what it doesn't cover, that you think is going to be needed. Basically you're saying to be cautious about CPO, and that's a major selling point on used BMWs.
If you want to get down to it, under a full factory warranty on a new BMW, it's like pulling teeth trying to get anything fixed, with repeated trips to the dealership. |

I'm on the fence about this myself. Since hitting 34,000 miles, I have had a new evaporator, new compressor, and two new wastegates. The service guy said the evaporator isn't so uncommon (we live in Phoenix) and that worries me. I had my HPFP changed at 7500 miles. Since I did a Euro Delivery for my honeymoon, there is some sentimental value attached to the car, plus I love the way the N54 engine drives, so I was hoping to go to 100k, preferably 120k.
Ultimately, to include the Platinum coverage that fixes iDrive, I would have to pay approx $3500 to extend it to 6yr/100k (my driving pattern is 15k+ a year).

I am at the decision point as well (or at least soon).
I bought a 2007 328i in May with only 16K miles. I now have 18.5K and drive about 15,000 per year. The years on the original warranty run until next March. Should I buy an extended with this low of mileage? Costco seems to offer a program through a preferred vendor and I was going to give them a call and compare to BMW quote. |

If no codes are being thrown use Chevron Techron fuel injector cleaner (concentrate). It solves rpm fluctuating upon cold start-up. Also, for most BMW problems start off by scanning your car with the Peake Research Tool. It contains the actual BMW codes. If you want to register a newly installed battery for free (just buy a $10 cable) and google/download BMWLogger
