I purchased my new 335is convertible in February, and I love it!
There may be some differences between Canadian and American model options?
Decide whether you want a coupe or retractable hardtop convertible.
Then I would say study the BMW 3-series official brochure which lists all the options extensively. Utilize the BMW website to "build your own" to view options/packages and costs. Read the Internet reviews, and check the forums like you're doing. I personally opted for all the packages, and almost all the options available, along with 19" rims and a rear spoiler. I think the only available options which I don't have are the heated steering wheel, auto high beams, and Active Cruise Control (ACC), simply because they didn't come with the model that was available to me at the time. Good luck!

335 IS

Is it worth it for performance, and is it extra cost?

To me, it's all worth it! But that's a personal decision. The option packages added about $20k
to the base cost. It helped that the fully loaded 335is convertible was already in my price range.

I'm looking for the best performance too. How would you say the 335is stacks up to other cars in it's price range?

Do the comparisons. I spent weeks studying everything about it on the Internet.
There are websites which will compare the 335is to other comparable models. Go and test drive your top choices. Only you can make that decision.

iv done so much research. its just that professional reviewers tend to have different views on the car. Some say its a great sports car, while others say its unreasonable car for everyday use. After alot of research I can say I sure about buying the car, but I'd like to know what everyday consumers have to say about the car. Things like comfort for long rides, performace and other interesting things. Like I said before I have read up ALOT on all these things about the car, but I find different opinions for each review. Can be a little frustrating. But any information will be very informative for me. Thanks!

I think you can tell from this Forum that the overwhelming majority of 335is owners are very happy with their cars. To me, it's the perfect blend of power, performance, comfort, style, luxury, and practicality as my everyday commute car. I fall in love with it a little more each day.

Absolutely!
And for longer trips too.....
I took a girlfriend for a road trip for the first time last week. We traveled about 700 miles in one day with very few stops. Afterwards, she remarked that it's the first car that she's been in where she was completely comfortable for that length of time, and did not even ache afterwards. She loves it too!

What kind of coding adjustments did u make?
I coded:
- DVD-in-motion
- Navi Nag screen disable
- FOB Key Eject
- Folding and un-folding mirrors via FOB
- Window close via FOB
- Digital MPH in Kombi

Still haven't figured out the corner LED delete, however.

Is anyone running tunes on their 335is w/ DCT? How well does it work with the sport button? anything to worry about?

I'm probably gonna transfer over my proceed once I get the new car since they have specific 335is dct maps.

Hey guys... very close to ordering an IS. One question I was wondering was if you get electric power seats without the executive package which gives you lumbar support.

You do get electrical seats as part of the base package in Canada

Ive been running the jb4 for a couple months now. Works great. DCT isn't as smooth & forgiving as the regular auto, but overall it's awesome. Smooth shifting seems to be/have been a challenge for both shiv and Terry. Its pretty much ironed out now tho.

Power seats are standard (at least in the us), but I only have inflatable side bolsters not lumbar.

Should i get jb4 as well or v5? I'm confused on what to get. What are the gains with just the tune put on without upgraded fmic and dci n such?

I'm going to have my v5 and a jb4 available when i'm done break-in on my 335is. So if you want to wait about 1-1.5 months i'll have that info.

I'm planning to take both to the dyno and do same day back to back pulls. And then give driving impressions.
