Anyways, When I bought my e90 I got to be honest I knew NOTHING about a 325, 328, 330, or 335 lol. I only got my 328 because it looked fast and it was a bmw Not until months later did I join the forums and became educated about the car I drive. 2 Months in I realized that the right 3er for me was the 335 and then I started modding to make up for the "coolness" factor I thought I lacked.

But then I realized, it was probably for the better that I did not get a twin turbo charge 300hp engine, because of the way I drive my 328 I would have killed myself by now.

Now all my buds refer to me as "BMW boy" because they are impressed of all my bmw knowledge that I have gained form this website. haha I find it quite comical and I kinda take some pride in that

So long story short at first I was all bummed I didn't do some researching about the 3 series before I purchased but now I know the 328 is the right car for me and sets me up to gain much respect for the power of cars ( considering I dont have that much )

How about you guys? Any regrets? even though I hardly doubt it, they're all great cars!!

You would've been happier in a 335i since you obviously like speed. Even with a lot of power, it's an easy car to handle.

erry day man. The auto-paddle 07 I test drove prior to 330 purchase was fast. Then drive buddies jb4 335 & its game over. You really need to drive one to experience, but I digress...

Anyways, came down to no 0.9% for 07's at time of purchase

I test drove a my friends 335 like a year after I had my 28 and my jaw dropped. pretty big fucking difference haha. You really feel that turbo after driving a NA all the time

I regretted it initially when I moved from my G37S to the 328. But over the course of time, I learned more about the car in comparison to the 335 and honestly preferred it over that.

My first car was a eclipse gst. If you know Mitsubishi cars, they were a car mechanic dream. Something always breaking. The 335 reminded me of this. Yes, it's fast, but stuff breaks too often.

For the cost of our cars they should be pretty much flawless. Now on the other hand, I do wish the direct injected the n52 engine like the euro model.

not at all actually, I perfer my 328. nothing against 335 owners but turbo isn't for me, i'm married with children. The 328 has plenty of pickup for what i need

I regretted not buying an E46 330 when I had an E46 325 but I spent a long time thinking about my next car and don't regret buying an E93 325 over a 335 or any other model

I am looking to trade my 328 for a 335. I want rwd instead of xi and manual instead of automatic. Less gadgets, the better imo.

They are both great cars, and the work I put into the 328 makes it a fun car. I am just ready to step it up some more to the tubo world :-)

I've had a couple of Z28's in the past, each with power equivilent to or greater than the 335. They both weigh about the same. My last car was a Grand Prix GTP that had close to 300 lb-ft to the front wheels (RWD in Reverse Gear!).

Fast cars are fun, but they can be a liability depending on where you live. There's a lot of traffic around D.C.. I could never really open up my LS1 Z28 6-speed. I always felt like I was just loping around with it. I'd have the same issue with a 335.

I ended up with a 328. I can wring out the engine and rarely feel like I need any more power than it already has. With an AA tune in DS it's really responsive and I have a ton of fun with it. The short gearing makes it feel like it has more power than it does.

The thing that held me back from a 335 at the time was primarily cost. I'd have to get an older car with more miles and I wanted to keep this one a long time. That combined with possible HPFP and DI headaches clinched it for me.

If I felt it was worth the extra money, I would've gotten one. I'm definitely not dissappointed with my choice though. I love my 328i.

1addicts dejavu? No regrets over 128i, i dont drive fast enough on the streets to use a n54 or n55. Turbo maintenance, no thx

yes, i would of liked to buy a 335 instead of my 328 but its all $$.

The 335 will cost 3-5x more to maintain, and sh!t im not 30 yet so price is a big thing for me.


the 335 feels so much faster cuz the peak TQ @ 1200rpms...... its like instant.

If you're looking to upgrade to something w/ more power but the same level of quality. I would get a G37S. Rock solid engine like the N52 w/ more than enough grunt. Then if you like, you can S/C it for 3-5K for upwards of 500hp... STOCK!

Also... The guy on Top Gear kinda explained it best... He would rather have a lower powered car that he can drive at it's MAX versus a high-po car than you can't MAX out.

W/E people tell you, you can't max out a 335 on the street... unless you're breaking laws.

It feels like we're all pretty much on the same page then. I mean I would rather have a fully modded out 328 rather than a stock 335

At first yes but I got over it. 328i is not a 335i but it's still a great car. With mods you can make the suspension better than the stock 335i, so there is fun to be had.

I do still regret not getting a manual

I do A LOT of daily driving in a town that is filled with cops. I dont regret my n52, im on my 2nd one. The PE on it makes me very happy. Plus the 328 isnt exactly a slouch of a car, yes a 335 is faster, but also less reliable IMO. N54 HPFP, waste gate rattle, Bad injectors, Blown stock turbos, heater cores, should i keep going? N52, random gasket leaks starting at 70k...big deal.

i had an 08 335, sport pkg, etc. the prior car was a 4cy honda accord. i went from 150hp to 300hp in 2 hrs. needless to say, i drove the shit out of that car. It was incredibly fun to drive.
i've got a 328 coupe with msport now. and i've got to be honest...the 1sec longer to 60 doesn't even phase me. the naturally aspirated engine is more fun to drive as you get the rpms between 3500 and 6000. i've added a better air box to it and will get it re-mapped eventually, but even now, I can spin the rear tires without much effort. So i have to say, i'm a fan of the naturally aspirated engine as there's less to go wrong with it and it's rock solid.

The direct injection variant of the euro 330 is an interesting one. I would love to get my hands on one of those. But I wonder if they use hpfp and if there are issues with it?
