I wonder if there is some type of backlog at the trucking company. |

Rich, you might want to give the trucking company to check your status. BTW, the dealer also originally mentioned March 3rd to Fuzzy on the Hudson Leader thread. He later called Wagoneer's, and his car is arriving in San Diego tonight! |

vladinecko - nice picts.
Lance Alot - I have been calling the Wagonner twice a day. I don't know if I got held up in customs or not, but I figured I was safe looking forward to next Friday since I will be away for a few days....Now it looks like even next Friday (leap day) may be too optimistic. I know it will come eventually, but I want eventually to come sooner! I can hold some hope that the dist. center will replace my windshield and fix the minor paint knicks, but I was also told that it is more than likely that that work would be done at the dealer. So maybe 3/5 plus a few days. It is killing me...!!! |

i can't believe it, the car is less than 8 hours old!!!

I don't know about customs, but the VPC does work on Saturdays depending on how many cars they have to get through. My guess is the probably worked this weekend, but I'm not sure. Either way, as of this morning our car had still not been released to the trucking carrier. It looks like they just started releasing cars from the Hudson Leader, so I'm thinking that those of us on the AL won't get shipped until sometimes next week.

I was recently reminded that we with ED had the enjoyment of our fine rides through the streets of Europe. In one small town in Spain, I was compelled to pull in my mirrors (nicely by the push of a button) as the streets were so narrow. In several places in Spain and France I saw the young guys looking with envy at the fine car. I was pulled over in Germany as the police wanted to look under the hood. They were purely professional, but I could tell - they just wanted to check it out.
We may get our cars 1.5 weeks later....but we have driven where few have. My particular case is captured in a nice photo album. Until the fine ride is back where it belongs, I take solice in looking that the pictures. I have one particular video clip where I set the camera on the dash and took video of a quaint French town. That clip is unmatched by any bird crap complaint from a car delivered a little earlier than ours (sorry non-ED types, but we need to cope). |

Rich, I agree about ED being a wonderful experience. I unfortunately only got to drive our car for 600 miles and two days in Europe, but it was indeed a thrill to open her up on the Autobahn and cruise through various locations in Germany/France. I'm actually smiling now as I write this. The wait sucks, but I'd do it again in a heartbeat! We'll get our cars in the next week or two, and the extra few days will be a non-issue.
RWG - congrats on the redelivery! Your ride looks great. It's Monaco Blue, correct? Last edited by Lance Alot; 02-24-2008 at 01:30 PM.. Reason: typo |

Just curious, but did anyone get the extended warranty? Given the somewhat sketchy reputation of BMW's reliability after 4 years or so, I wanted to get your thoughts as to whether or not it was worth it? Thanks.

It is Monaco blue and I really like it.
Akphan, I have committed to the wife to keep this car for at least 100k miles. We bought the extended warranty. We did not get the extended maintenance. |

I'll probably be keeping mine for at least 10 years. I had my E30 M3 for about 17 years and only put 72k miles. Since the 335i replaces the M3 as a weekend car, I'll probably put less than 100k on it in ten years (I drive about 24k-30k/year).

unlike garyhgaryh, i won't be keeping this car for longer than 3 years and i only average about 7,500 miles/year so no need for extended warranty for me.

10 am PST - just got word that my ED 335i vert is being loaded onto a truck. The truck has 5 stops along its way. Likely delivery to dealer is 2/26.
Progress! |
