Hi mate,

i think about 600-610, could be wrong, going to get another dyno run next saturday.

I think warranty protection is still quite variable depending on the map on your car, some are claimed to be 'untraceable' but can still be found if information/the ECU is sent back to Germany.
My logic is ( and it may be flawed ) that if there is no reason to get involved with my engine and start poking around then most dealers won't bother. Sure if i try claiming warranty on part of the drivetrain they might well decide to take a look, but otherwise i don't see why they would waste their time investigating.

My car is in the dealership today having something repaired under warranty, the battery in front of the pollen filter has come loose because clips are broken and is causing rattle, I was a little worried because my car is obviously clearly modded and i thought they may try to be difficult, but so far so good (fingers crossed) the the dealership have gone to work no-questions asked, and so they should because it's a legitimate fault with the car that is uninfluenced by any changes i have made. Im quite happy with the dealers right now.

In the event of a drivetrain issue and i need to take my car in to claim on warranty DMS tuning are mobile and have said they will drive up to put my ECU back as it was any time in the next 3 years. Also if they update software and overwrite the map DMS will come and re-map the car free of charge.

Again i could be completely wrong on the above, this is the logic i have settled with to try and feel comfortable heavily modding a car with 2 years warranty left. I will surely need a bit of luck and hope things dont go wrong with the engine in that time, but i didn't want to wait 2 years before getting to drive my car at its full potential

I had the same logic as you, however with me atleast it turned out so that when the dealer connected the car to the ECU this message appeared:

This says no goodwill as the car is more than 2 years old however I have additional one year warranty...

I hope this is not the case with you!

yikes :/

Well i'll know in an hour! i'll keep you all posted.
This is probably something being discussed on a few other threads, ill have a search and do some ready, it would be good to know more about cases of modifications voiding or passing through warranty policy.

Got a message on my machine from BMW saying to please call them back because they 'need to speak to me about my car' ... for a moment I expected the worst, especially after these last messages! But it turns out they just needed to ask if they could keep the car overnight. I picked it up this morning & they had replaced my pollen filter, some clips & also tweaked the front wings for good measure to try and remove any cabin noise. No issues with the warranty and it was all covered, I drove home with a shiny clean car very relieved.

.. only problem being they haven't fixed the cabin noise! (obviously)

You can pick them up at most alloy sellers, id recommend cm wheels for reps or direct from vmr (forum sponsors) for legit, mine are et 33 et 35 offset.
Hi Alex,

Are these the wheels?

Also I am not that familiar with offsets, etc... so how do these compare with the standard wheel e.g. 8JX19 ET:37 and 9JX19 ET:39.

Finally did you keep the same size tyre or change?

Thanks,
Eddie

Cheers guys!

Ducky it's not come cheap and there has been a lot of ebay selling going on in the last few months! but have also managed to get a decent price for some of my old parts which has helped. I'm sure looking at all the receipts would be a bit devastating but my thinking is that i want to keep the car for a long time, I have not managed to keep a car for more than 12 months without growing unhappy with it and picking out faults but i want this to be the onei hang on to for a while so better to get all my spending out of the way early on & enjoy the results for years to come.

More mods coming soon, i just swapped out my front wings & am looking to fit a carbon Arkym front lip this weekend. Also got some changes to the boot lid to do.

hah! can't wait to see / fit it dude.
I actually fitted a seibon carbon CSL bootlid last week but i can tell already it is going to be a nightmare to paint, so i have taken it off for now and am going with your spoiler.

i wanted to do a spray fade like this:

but it is going to be a lot of work & could look like an absolute disaster if done wrong, mostly concerned about the carbon weave showing through the paint.
Some folks were trying to convince me to leave it black but for the risk of looking like a drug dealer i think i'll pass on that for now.

Mate. Love the car, love the mods. Lucky bmw overlooked them when you went in for warranty.

I have been trying to get my hands on that lip too. We're did you source it from bud?

I'm mostly shocked you managed 300hp with a tune on a 325d! That must feel like great power improvement!

Lip was from teddy at SSDD, nice guy with good prices. it's arrived & finish is nice, but havent had chance to test fitment yet. Some members have already got this lip installed though and I have heard it is very good fitment. Apparently when lining it up it doesn't seem quite right but once holes are drilled and its actually on the alignment is perfect.
Thats a point though, unlike the arkym you will have to get the drill out and probably get some longer bolts than oem from your local DIY shop.

Yea being a rep im not expecting it to be spot on but abit of DIY sounds like it will do the trick. Im worried about ground clearance as now im dropped i scrap going into multi storey car parks and i go in about 5 a day with work so dont fancy leaving half of it on the ramp going into one

Get some pics up when installed mate

Quite a lot to update, started to worry it was getting a bit self indulgent and so have been trawling through other people's threads rather than update my own. Might post a big update over Christmas
