Looking into painting my whole car to a different color.

After reading threads here it looks like I should look into EuroPros in Bethesda and D&V in Chantilly for a full body paint job. Anyone have any experience with these shops or others in the DMV area? Budget is at $4k. Any help is appreciated.

i don't know if 4k budget will cut it. i would think full change color is closer to 7k - 10k with parts taken out of the car. Go with a wrap.

what is the reason for the change of color?

you're going to kill your resale value if you re-paint your car for $4k (or whatever amount you pay).

like Raja said, wrap is a better option.

Really 7-10k?? Probably for top-tier service..

I always heard around 3.5-5k for a decent quality job, dupont/sherwin paint.

I sideswiped my car last year so the resale value is down and now I'm growing tired of the color - the minor damage reported brought the value down enough so that I can't afford to get a 335 in a different color right now. Figured painting should be a cheaper alternative.

Who quoted you 7-10k man?

I didn't think about that, good point. I still want to shop around and compare paint shops. Vinyl wraps looks so dull, not sure if there are other types.

Get with BMW Exclusive and ask for Stephane'. He has a great body shop and should be able to help you in the right direction.

Didn't get the whole care painted, but I have gotten a M-Sport front, performance side skirts, pre-LCI M-tech rear, and LCI hood panted from Euro Pros. I think they're on the slightly more pricy side but I can't argue with the end product. Paint is emasculate, perfect paint match. Plus they let me into the shop, it was full of germans, Benz, BMW, Porsche, Audi. I looked around and chatted with some of the guys. They commented and offered some advice about my car, even showed me this one project car they were doing. Everything that could be painted was painted Matte Black. It was beautiful.

I can't speak to whether or not to paint the entire car, but I will tell you that I've had work done from D&V and they were amazing.

I believe there are a couple local guys on the forum that actually do wrapping. Don't know anything about those shops. Wrapping can look very good if it is done correctly.
