I think, a 335i needs 4 more cylinders to sound like an M5...And that m5 didn't sound all that good.

am I the only one who thinks those M5s sound like ass and way to raspy and untuned for the car, they remind me of my friends cobra.

I would be happy with this

i think what he meant was: no 4-banger in the world sounds like that it's not possible. but you'll learn to distinguish sounds from a 4-banger and a v10

I've also heard that exhaust in person and it just sounds mean as hell. The video picks up the high pitched F1 tone that it has to it, but that exhaust also has such a deep, ballsy sound to it in person that just sounds amazing. Yes, I wish my car sounded like that, but I guess if you have never heard it in person than you might think that the sound is all rasp. That's really not the case though.

First of all, some of y'all are KERR-AYZEEE for not loving that sound!

Second, as Boostedbmw said, u gotta witness it in person. OMG. Same experience with a Gallardo (ask Shiv!). Holy hell does it sound phenomenal in person, especially standing right behind one as it blasts off WOT. It feels like the air _behind_ you is being sucked in right through your chest. Breathtaking (no pun intended ).

Man, the MAIN reason I'd kill for an M5 is because it has a V10 that can be made to sound like F1 with an exhaust mod. Cuz u know, a Carrera GT is most likely never going to be attainable. U guys heard that with straight pipes?

Youtube search “vralexander” => his car is just S-I-C-K.

Sniz, u know how many people don't even realize how light that car is, lol. Try 2500 lbs. 480hp twinturbo....yeah....

EDIT: Actually, let's put things into perspective. That was in 1987. Fast forward 20 years...2007. F430 Scuderia. 2750 lbs. 510hp. Tremendously better dynamics than even the mighty F40 racecar-for-the-road.

Btw u heard a Gallardo Superleggerra yet? Youtube it ;-)

I'm sorry to hear, but I will admit that the sound of that M5 is awesome!
The clips in the first post sound like ass.

I'm certain that some effect was lost in the video. The Mesiterschaft on my friends M5 sounds much closer to that latter video (with it revving in place and the audience freaking out). Pure sex. I wish my Eisenmann Race had the menacing low-end that car has, but 10 cylinders and +2L of displacement can't be replicated with an exhaust, sadly.
