remote key and headlights question

i a new e92 owner and loving every single day. I cant figure out what Im doing to cause my headlights to not turn on when I open the door with my remote key. I played with the auto headlight functions, and somehow the headlights turn on when I open the door with the remote. Now its back to not turning on. Does anybody know what is going on? Thanks!

are you leaving your light switch to "auto" when they do come on? or do you have iDrive?

Dude, totally ran into the same thing when I was installing some mods on my car. Long/short, the car was stuck in the garage for 2 weeks due to the terrible snow storms we had so couldn't drive it, couldn't get a full charge on the batt, did a lot of starting, running for a couple min and then shutdown. It was just the battery getting low, and the car is "smart" enough to conserve energy for starting. Once I got a full charge on the batt the AEs come on everytime. If the switch is in the right position (auto or on) then maybe have the battery checked - usually places like Discount Auto parts will check your batt for free. Hope this helps.

i got the "smart," adaptive battery explanation from SA. after resting, it needs to get used to working again. when the battery light comes on, it's like it's 3:30pm on Tuesday after a long MLK weekend where you also took a personal day on Friday. the car is angry over being made to work, but it'll adjust, and its spirit will again be broken in time.
