I just don't my car to sound too much like a "race car" ya know? Girlfriend would hate it. I want it to be a little louder but not over do it. If that makes sense. |

Has anyone compared the aFe Si closed box vs Eurobox??
It is interesting because aFe replaces the pipe from box to Throttle body, eurobox doesn't.

I have the afe and would NOT recommend it. The maf spacing problem is very real and requires a custom made spacer to make your car run right. I'd get either the injen or the afe closed box.

The afe closed box was discussed in this thread:
http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...&highlight=Afe I will say that the regular afe with the spacer works fine, sounds great, and is what's on my car (though mine came with it so I didn't have a choice ). I'd just never recommend a product that clearly is lacking in r&d... Especially when there are other options. |

Thanks Brian.
So I think I'm going to go with injen. People are saying it's good and it's less $$ than a euro box and apparently better than the aFe in terms of having any issues. |

Afe Intake
I recently purchased and installed the aFe Intake Stage 2 54-11012 BMW 325i/328i/330i. Price from AFE direct is on extreme sale. I paid 260ish. Car as extreme sound difference, but its only there when you want it to be 3500+ = awesome sound. 3500> not noticeable at all. I am very satisfied. Power difference w/sprint booster makes for a really dramatically different driving experience.
Bottom line: I am not concerned with my engine receiving enough air. |

Hey guys really late with this reply but I ended up getting an aFe intake. They had a really great sale. Got the intake, air scoops, and 2 filter recharge kits for around $275. As mentioned above, the sound is great but only when you want it to be (at or above 3500-4000 RPM)
Power-wise don't feel anything dramatic. Feels a little more peppy on the highway at high speeds and in sports mode (obviously) Install took maybe 30-45 minutes. Overall, im very happy with it. no problems and no fitment related issues. Here's a before and after: |

Congrats on the purchase OP. As long as you're happy with results all is in order.
I really enjoy my injen. Sounds nicer at all RPMs, and really opens up above 3.5k. Got a great deal on a used one for $180 too.

Should have gotten the sealed intake, that one you got will just heatsoak the shit out of your engine. It's an open-bay type regardless of the shield above and below it.
