Hey fairly new here, i got a 2009 328i ( yea yea all you 335 owners, I'll get crap from you eventually). I'm in sierra vista (stationed here) anybody down here or in Tucson that might want to hang out meet up. I saw the meet up on Saturday, that's a long drive so I would have to really think about it. Need new friends also, different perspective than just army is always good.

Anyone in Tempe, Scottsdale, Mesa area have any recommendations for a place to get wheels powdercoated or painted for a decent price! Trying to get my wheels done in black finally!

We'll free to stop by here whenever. You're more social than 99% of the people in the Arizona section anyways

I don't even know if I introduced myself here.
I moved to Chandler from the East Coast a little while ago. I'm a mechanical engineer, and my last car was a Subaru Legacy with a lot of work done. My boss at work back on the East Coast told us we should work on our own cars to be better engineers so what started as an exhaust ended with forged pistons, a large turbo, new clutch, engine mounts, fuel pump, FMIC, injectors, intake, etc. All with a car that had 29k on the odometer. I wasn't looking for insane numbers but ended up dynoing 350 whp with the larger turbo and 325 whp with smaller but better spooling one I ended up keeping for longer. No race car but fun to drive and a huge increase from the stock 190-210ish whp. He later told me he meant change our own oil but what the hell, it's a fun hobby and a great learning experience. All good things come to an end, I went through a divorce, sold the car and bought an '07 e90 335i and moved out here. I no longer had the desire to have a built-motor car as my daily driver and wanted something that was turbo, manual transmission, rear wheel drive and fun to drive. I miss the ease of working on the Subaru, but otherwise haven't looked back. I've seen a few of you guys around (I think) but just haven't been on the forums much. Anyway, that's my story. |

Come out to the Scottsdale Pavilions on saturdays at 7 pm. We have anywhere from 20-30+ BMWs show up. If you've never been, its always fun to walk around and check out other peoples rides.. Plus if you are ever looking for some modding inspiration, our buddy Ryan (also '07 e90 335i) is at 455 hp and 544.4 torques and is usually there.. But anyway, welcome to the AZ crew!
