Retrofitted Folding Mirrors with Auto dip and memory...

Spent this morning and afternoon retrofitting folding mirrors with auto dip.
There are no instructions/ guidelines on the internet and very little information is out there. So I had to experiment few things.

It took few hours but finally its done!

Now I have
- Folding mirrors
- Auto-dip when reversing
- Memory of the mirrors linked to the memory button on the seats.

So my retrofit list is
- Front LCI conversion with M sports kit + side skirts
- Front xenon conversion with washer jets retrofit
- Rear LCI conversion with M sports rear bumper
- LCI leather heated seats with the memory
- CIC with DAB plus, Combox and all features
- Rear PDC
- Auto folding memory mirrors with auto dip on reverse
- Black Roof lining
- Dashcam fitted recently

Next on my list is
Reverse camera with external video card and that will allow me to have the dash cam connected to CIC

Considering all the time and money you have spent making your pre lci car an lci style car, wouldn't it have been cheaper to just buy an LCI car?

Superb!!

I picked up a set of folding mirrors & a heated/electric/memory interior yesterday. Can you give me a rough idea of what is involved in terms of wiring & coding to get these installed?

But this takes out the buzz of doing the research / sourcing the parts etc....

It's more like a hobby!

Plus now he's done it on his motor - people know where to go / trust with theirs!

Great work!

Since I had to do bit of research, take out the door harness and study it, make notes and then find out how electric mirrors work, it took me approx 7 hours. You will have to add few wires which your car does not come with.

But now I know whats coming on my way if I have to do it again and possibly 2-3 hours.

It can be fitted without memory seats. Memory seats are good indication for someone to retrofit folding mirrors, as its a matter of changing the mirrors, switch and getting it coded. Same as what Jammy did.

Josh, sure it can be done. Get M3 folding mirrors (3 pins), and windows switch with mirror folding option/ button.
And rest I will do it.

For mirrors, you need two new harnesses for front two doors. Addition of few wires to some modules of your car and coding.
Or if you are advanced electrician / coder, then you can alter the current wirings / harnesses on your doors.

Getting the electric memory seats if a complete ball ache!
Depends on what your car comes with, and what you are going for, its a matter of adding additional wires, fitting fuses and coding it.

Correct, and more sort of desire to have more or less everything on your car.

And, yes its a hobby for me and I love it!

That's a crazy amount of work! Glad you enjoy it. I just found a fully loaded LCI car lol. (Not that I am against DIY, I do a lot of DIY myself around the house and on my car when and if I feel like it
