Alpine BMW OEM upgrade

Just wondering if anyone in Aust has ordered and installed the Alpine audio upgrade kit? I have an E92 325i with the base audio system which is rubbish.

Yeah I got it. After a bit of a hoo-haa I ended up with the Alpine kit + harman kardon underseat subs for just over $1300.

I've got it in my 2010 E90 325i. Had it retrofitted by the Stealer so it would be covered by warranty and coded correctly.

I bought the parts from a BMW parts supplier overseas heaps cheaper than buying in Australia. Check on the internet and EBay - remember you need new door surrounds too for the speakers.

I think it is great but I didn't pay $1,300 I can tell you.

Help that helps....

It's not $1300, I found it on Schmiedmann for around €430 (A$625) delivered to Aust which includes the door trims for the tweeters. I think the $1300 referred to above includes upgraded subwoofers which would be an added option.

that sounds bit more reasonable I guess..can we save on delivery costs if we order as a group from schmeidmann?? does the kit not come with standard woofers?

Stock has 6" underseat subs, I now have the 8" underseat ones from higher spec'd cars with the H/K audio. It was $1300 installed for everything which was fine for me (from the dealer). And while I knew I could get the kit (no subs) for ~600 I ceebs trying to install it myself or anything. Of course you can just go aftermarket as well but there is so much range I personally have no idea what to look for.

With the 8" sub did you notice any sort of rattle etc from the vibrations?

Not at all. But in a 335i I think you already have 8" subs with the Hi-Fi 10 system if that's what you have? They're probably not the H/K ones though.

I actually was curious and checked my VIN on realOEM.com

I do have H/K speakers, I love my sound quality and tbh whatever I have in my car is not bad at all.

Yeah if you have the H/K then you're already set haha! Only way to go is aftermarket if you want more.
