I found you need to access it from the top and the bootom -

the airbox will need to come out so you can access the clip to the turbo and the under tray needs to come off to access the clip onto the intercooler - the difficult bit is releasing the top clip to the turbo as its quite fiddly- (see my thread)

becarefull not to break this clip otherwise its a new red boost pipe time as BMW dont sell these clips on their own (£170 for the pipe)

I've got this issue.

Garage are checking the breathers and i'm going to order the part (£175) plus 2 hours to fit.

BMW ownership is not going well for me so far.

phew, just read through the 15 pages..worrying but i,m keeping a sound mind. I do have oil residue on my red pipe but it's dry and no oil drips so I will keep monitoring for now.

Out of interest I saw it mentioned that there is a pre and post red boost hose... any way to check this? mine is a 58 335d m-sport.

cheers!

This thread is really awesome, thanks guys.

Here is my red boost pipe:

I guess i should be replacing it then huh....

Also, on the other side of the intercooler theres is a "silver" pipe which is also for me covered in oil in similar fashion.. with some fresh oil being seen on the bottom seal.. What is this pipe? Do you recommend replacing as well?

Picture but a low quality sry couldnt focus it very well.. In the middle there you see what looks to be originaly silver pipe but is covered in dirt and oil..
