Pro Imports in Rockville, Maryland

I did my 4 wheel alignment at pro imports this afternoon following my eibach pro-kit install last week by spool.

Thanks to all the recommendations/info dc metro...

Anyways, I know its just a straight up alignment but I just wanted to share I think they did a great job. They seem very knowledgeable and offered up a lot of tech knowledge.

Alignment took about 1.5 hours and costs $146.50 for lowered cars (less for factory suspension) with a 4,000 miles guarantee period (you can return within the time/mileage limits for follow up touch ups).

I thought they treated my car well and with respect. No issues here. Car feels great!

The head tech is Patrick, you can call Dan at (301) 881-4905 and he'll take care of you. For reference you can mention Donny with the grey 06 BMW.

http://www.pro-imports.com/

FYI they're an official distributor for KW suspension parts. I checked their prices and they seem reasonable. Coilover install rates is about $380 but if you buy the parts from them, install is about $320. Initial quote for KW V2 for E90/92 was about $1570 but they seem eager to work with you on prices.

They're also a Tire Rack partner so they can do mounting and other components install.

not bad, back when they used to be in airpark they chipped my wheels mounting tires and left me with no compensation for the damages. I am glad you had a better experience. Maybe there better now, when I worked specifically with Patrick he did an excellent job. One of his old techs screwed up my wheel.

Actually they weren't...but I just wanted to be sure. Besides I've never done an alignment in the 1 yr 3 months I've had the car and as you know DC roads do take a toll...

Most of the adjustments, according to the tech was in the rear. When I went in, pretty much most of the settings were 'in the green' only some slight adjustments were needed. They had to do some guesswork on the caster settings as BMW doesn't have that spec accessible (they said) so they kept it within caster specs they are familiar, as seen on most BMW models).

I was worried about chipping or curbing and I had them note it down during the initial walk around...as I saw it, they treated my car very carefully, so I'm pleased.

err...no, did I have to?

I probably should...I guess, I've reached a point where just moving my ass severely affects the weight distribution on the 4 corners of the car

Well, we can start by:

1. Which springs are the front or back ?

2. Which part is the top or buttom ?

I can see its going to be a long day

The outer two are your front springs. Fact: the factory springs won't even fit in the box completely. You'll see a bigger difference with the front springs, I'll say about a 1/3 shorter.

The rear springs is about 1/4 shorter than stock.

You definitely need the compressor for the front, the rear just slides out...

There are labels to indicate which side is up...I belive the eibach wording has to be right side up.

The car rides well now, Ase...almost plush. You really start to appreciate the springs after they've been broken in and after an alignment...I almost don't notice the car is lowered now, granted the car wasn't the best riding with stock suspension and pos RFTs.

The first few days, the car was quite bouncy and was easily unsettled in mid corner bumps (think: offramps).

yeah! that is normally a risk when mounting tires on good alloys, some tire shop did the same thing on my other car one time. I watched the guy did it, and he look at me after with a weird look holding a pry bar.

I had to swallow my pride, and didnt say anything bcoz I wanted to leave there alive.
