Quote:
New England Dragway’s Street Night program is geared toward letting beginners enjoy the thrill of drag racing. It is also the perfect setting for the more experienced enthusiast who would like to test performance modifications. Newcomers should refer to the chapter about Drag Racing Basics for a more detailed information about the structure of the quarter mile and preparing for that first run. Snowmobiles and Junior Dragsters may not compete on Wednesday Street Night. Except as noted above Street Nights are open to both cars and motorcycles excluding dragsters, altereds and roadsters.
Following are some basic rules, which must be adhered to. Additional information regarding safety requirement is contained in the Racer Handbook, as well as the current NHRA Rulebook.

Cars & Trucks:
On Wednesday Street Night events street tires are required (DOT Approved racing tires are acceptable).
No bald tires allowed
Open exhaust is not allowed
Co-driver’s are allowed in all vehicles running 14.00 seconds or slower
Seat belts are required
Overflow can for radiator required
Battery hold down bracket required
.500 Full Tree using manual start
Vehicles must comply with safety and equipment requirements as outlined by the current NHRA Rulebook.
Vehicles must be street legal and able to pass state safety inspection
Nitrous oxide is permitted and must be installed according to the provisions outlined in the current NHRA Rulebook.
Valid state driver’s license required. Learner’s permits are not acceptable
Helmets (Snell 2005 or newer) are required for all vehicles running 13.99 or quicker
Drivers and co-drivers are required to wear long pants, a shirt, socks, and shoes
Probably won't be able to get up there till about 6:30-7, but the track will open at 5.

Q. When do I need to wear a helmet?
A. All racers are encouraged to wear a helmet in competition. Current NHRA rules require all racers, excluding motorcycles, running an elapsed time of 13.99 seconds or quicker must wear a helmet. Motorcycle riders must always wear a helmet. Helmets must meet Snell 2005 or new guidelines.
So yeah ... pretty much everyone needs a helmet there ... I would be down to go but I still need to pick up a helmet

You'll get one run in without one, but after you break the 13.99 mark, they will require you to have one. So yes, pretty much everyone should have one.

Im in! Weather permitting of course... you can sign up for text alerts from New England Dragway so you know if its canned due to rain or not (links on their website). Ive missed about 4 weeks this summer due to rain.... Lets hope sept 17 is clear and cool.

ps if youre looking for some great food and drink in the area,
http://www.thetuckaway.com/ ... always good craft beer on tap, and a damn fine menu.

I was actually just there on Friday night and had a great time. My best time was 13.759 @ 105.27 mph on my worn out runflat tires. I ran four times and no one said anything about me not wearing a helmet. Almost everyone else there had one tho.

I was really suprised how many other e9x 335 were there. I counted four including myself.

I will be there.

I'll probably buy a helmet when I am there assuming I can break out of the 14s...Hopefully some M3s will show up. I have yet to run one.

Haha guess I'm spoiled having the e85 station 5 min away, it def makes a big difference.

They really are so far and few between though and in NH nothing.

There is barely anything in MA. I'd kill for one in my town.
