Tire tramline question

On my old E46 days when I put on summer tires (Falken 452, Pirelli P-Zero Nero AS) after the winter, I feel a lot of tramlining and need to take at least a week to get used to it. However, this year when I change over to my summer for my E92 (Bridgestone RE960AS), supprisingly no tramlining at all! So, is it because of the tire or is it because of the stragger setup? more info:

On E46: winter setup: 225/45/17 some conti winter
summer setup: 235/40/18 Pirelli P-Zero Nero AS and then Falken 452

On E92: winter setup: 225/40/18 Hanhook IceBear W300
summer setup: 235/35/19 front 275/30/19 rear on Bridgestone RE960AS

There could be many factors in which tramlining would occur. A few you would want to look into would be: alignment, type of tire, wider wheels/tires, and even low/hi tire PSI's. The easiest to check first would be tire pressures, then moving onto alignment. Check if the tires are wearing unevenly. Aggressive toe specs will generally cause a lot of tramlining depending on the road as well.
