Factory Satellite Radio vs. Aftermarket (Aux Port) XM- Sound Quality Difference??

I bought an e90 with Navi, thinking it had satellite radio because one of the options was "sat radio prep". Well, turns out it was just wired for satellite radio. I actually need to buy $500 in parts and another $200 in labor to get working satellite radio.

Wondering if there is a sound quality difference between factory installed satellite radio vs. aftermarket Satellite radio (hooked up via aux port in armrest).

Thanks!!
