Error code, any idea what's wrong?
I'm getting the following error codes. All my search results show to change the VANOS sensor won't help to solve this problem... Anyone knows how to fix it? Thanks.

Thats weird that the three codes triggered each other at a 60-70km intervals!
Wanna try cleaning the vanos valve instead of changing it?

because the labor for cleaning the vanos is same as change it. If cleaning doesn't work, then i have to pay for double labor. I don't want to chance it.

I am getting the same code P2A98 as well as P3100. My car also went into LIMP Mode. I did not however get a CEL or a service engine soon but I would assume that limp mode is a form of Check engine light but w/o the check engine light.

I had 2A2F and 2A2E. Both were due to Intake manifold gaskets. To test we sprayed a combustible liquid around the manifold to test for vacuum leak. It will bog down the engine if there is a leak. The oil separator hoses were shot as well
