OK heres the deal, I live in NYC and do alot of driving, actually my work consists of driving around all day. Just a little info so you guys know where I'm coming from, I work for a Liquor importer and I am a sales manager for all liquor stores in the NY metro area. Needless to say I might have an appointment all the way out east on the island one day, and then be in Bronx/Westchester the next, or sometimes even the same day. Also lets just say I never go empty handed, I always have about 5 cases of liquor in my trunk on most days, and if we are doing a show or a consumer event, its been as high as up to 10 cases. This is my situation, having said all this I would def love to change the rims and tires on my car, but you can all understand why dropping the car and putting 20 inch rims really isnt realistic for me. My question is can you guys recommend some rim/tire packages that might work for me? I'd love something strong, My last car I had i bent 2 rims driving around in NY, but I would like something that would actually look good on the car and not like its a 4x4 ready to hit the jeep trail. BTW Ive asked this question at my local shop, and all i got was a , and then he tried selling me H&R race suspension with 20 inch rims

Unless you get an offset where the 20" rims can tuck in or modify your wheel wells, the H&R race springs will make you rub. If you go with 20s, you might be best going with H&R sports or Eibach Pro Kit springs, or better yet, consider thread coilovers.

coil overs seems the way to go, any suggestion on rims? Doesn't have to be 20 inch but something that can withstand NYC potholes and will actually look good? Thanks in advance

u might wanna try the CSL or M5 rims or rims that don't have lip. the lipless rims dont get damaged as easy as rims with lip do. u may also want tires that aren't too stretched so u have more rubber protecting the rim. wuts ur current setup now? u have SP?

no sp, just the regular stock rims that came with the car, I was thinking of the m5 rims, prob would be the best bet i guess

I'm sure you realize that the larger the rim, the less tire padding you'll have, and with this the greater likelihood of damage to the rim.

If I lived in an area with a lot of potholes, I would think twice about getting expensive forged rims, and might be inclined to stick with 18" wheels. As you probably already know, the skinnier tires seem to do better in snow (I noticed you don't have a Xi). Conversely, wider/fatter tires that distribute the car's weight over a larger surface area do worse in the snow.

Do you plan on having two sets of wheels--one for inclimate weather, and one for nicer weather?

Well if it would be possible I'd rather get a pair that would work all year round. I know its a stretch in all the things I am asking for, but the truth is I have no garage or storage where I can keep the wheels.
