Better pack the binoculars then Paul, or arrange for Paddy to be right behind you as encouragement.

How's the foot doing?

I might pop across for a reconoitre ... not far from me. Need to try soon, as the whole road closes in winter for the snow. Strange setup for customs as you can only access the Italian town through Switzerland mid-winter ...

Done the Klausen pass a few years back. That was a hoot. Colleague's Mini Cooper (older model) had fried, ineffectual brakes that sank to the floor at the bottom of the pass , before we all turned around and headed back up. I managed to keep in front of my friends' Caterham and Morgan as we hit the clouds/fog by using the SatNav to give indication of the switching 180s before they came into view. Flying on instruments. Which is what I would be doing if I got it wrong - HUGE way down if you go off.

to be fair guys there isn't a hell of a lot of overtaking opportunities unless you are on a bike or you get a small straight stretch and have at least M3 type power, its all single lane hairpins with cars and bikes motorhomes coming the opposite way and you travel at the speed of the slowest car in front

I would like to do it again in a decent car this time.

My ankle is getting better but its still a little sore. The swelling has gone down considerably and the brusing has disappeared. I still have another 3/4 weeks before full recovery! My ankle is still slightly inflamed and tender so I'm still wearing a supporting sock. However, I'm moving more freely now and able to drive again but it has to be in comfy shoes, hence the slippers are working overtime!

I occasionally do a bit of work inside the mountains at Grimsel Good road.

I wouldn't like to meet that eejit in a dimly lit tunnel. Crunch.
