My service advisor just emailed me this info - also, disclaimer from me - I personally despise Dinan products - I'm running a Procede on my 335...

'Dinan is proud to announce the long awaited 335i software is now available on the December 10th MIPP card. The software enhances throttle response, removes the top speed governor, and will bring the car up to 384hp @ 5700rpm and 421tq @ 4300rpm. We will require that the vehicle have either a factory BMW oil cooler our oil cooler installed to install the software. We will be contacting you soon to pre-sale these as well. Pricing on the software and oil cooler will come in the following days as we get it. So call your customer and start scheduling appointments.'

384 hp
421 tq

If they are figuring about 14% drivetrain loss for a 6MT that would be roughly:

330 rwhp
362 rwtq

In the range of a PROcede v1.47 6MT car on 93 Octane (but about 10 rwtq less than procede car).
If they tested it on 91 Octane, then they are about 5 rwhp and 5 rwtq more than PROcede v1.47 car.

Not too bad, but I'm sure pricing will be high but I'll guess it's $1995 stand alone.
Oil cooler retrofits for early model cars should be free (as they have been for those people with sport option who've bitched and moaned to BMW about it.)

Pull the engine and put it on an engine dyno? It's possible. With what they have at their disposal, it's what I'd hope they did.

Shouldn't the torque curve be flatter? Well maybe it is...but I would hate to lose the linear aspect of the stock 335i

One would venture a guess that BMW has tuned the car for a flat torque curve, and thereby cut power at many points in the rev range. I think anyone that tunes the engine is going to narrow the peak in serach of more power. A simple flash or piggyback isn't going to be able to keep the flat curve and elevate it 80 hp. That would require top and bottom end work on the engine.

Thanks for the explanation, makes sense now. My question then becomes in order to increase at peak, does it reduce elsewhere or just keep it constant. In other words would it go from 300 to 250 lbft torque at 2000 rpms for example, so that it can go from 300 to 350 lbft torque at 4500 rpms?

The peak torque is at 4300 rpm? That seems a pretty high rpm to peak torque. 3400 rpm sounds sounds more like it.

Well this is what all the warranty nuts have been waiting for. Personally for those numbers, I'd spend $500 on a Turbo tuner and call it a day.

That's what many ppl were predicting from the Dinan ECU Flash...about PROcede v1.47 power (minus some TQ)...who wants to bet it's > $1,995?
