Muffler Delete too loud... What now
Today we removed mufflers from my buddies car. Hot rod Scott did an awesome job as always. However, the car is to loud... Logically the thing to do would be to put the old muffler back on. However given the fact that there is 300 dollars already into this mod does anyone suggest something to soften up the noise.
The car sounds great if you werent a professional and had clients see your car from time to time. Does anyone have experience with adding a set of resonators to soften it up? |

If you do a search there is something about Vibrant resonators for the mid pipes or something to that affect. Resonators should help though and hopefully your buddy still has secondary cats on too.

What part of the exhaust is too loud for him? In cabin noise Too loud outside Too loud under heavy throttle Too boomy cruising around town Your options are a 2 larger resonators, a helmholtz chamber or just throw in some mufflers. The thing with muffler deletes is they sound raw and mean when you're driving WOT, but they sound boomy and farty under normal driving conditions. |

the midpipes already had resonators on them (vibrants).
that being said, the resonators will help clean up higher RPM rasp. You could always add some resonators downstream, close to where the mufflers used to be. Unfortunately, muffler deletes on this car don't sound that good (in my opinion) vs. say on a large displacement v8. Id recommend putting the muffler back on - it will run the same amt as getting resonators and welding them in. |

haha this is so ridiculous. I have been inside a V8 S4 straight pipes and it sounded awesome, same with the RS4.
To be honest, the in cabin noise on the 335 is wayyyyy to much when your cruising and on the highway. When your outside the car it sounds awesome, but when your inside the car it sounds like you sitting ontop of a jet engine and everything is rattling and vibrating hahaha This sounds so ridiculous but the stock exhaust might be going back on tomorrow morning. There is no way I can take clients out and be taken seriously as a CA with the muffler delete, it sounds like I am driving a WW2 tank haha |

since those mid pipes have resonators on them, cut them off and install them just the tip... sorry i mean just before the tip.
my mind is somewhere else. you might as well try before you kiss 300 away. |

Try putting only one back on. And see if it still bugs you.
I've seen some people do this. Ask the shop the issue if just using one muffler. |

haha how do you think I feel?
AR Catless Downpipes + Secondary Cat delete + Vibrant Resonators + 3" Straight pipe = Wake up the entire block in the morning and sound like a race car @ 4000rpm+ The cabin noise isn't bad at all because I bump music all the time and when I don't, I drive at higher rpm where the vibration is barely noticeable. I accomplished my goal of being louder than a stock C63. It sounds sick! |

One of the guys who come to the Friday meet at Markham has aftermarket ones. Sounds really good. Nice sound when cruising but howls nicely on acceleration. Maybe Boltords car??

I was thinking of having a shop make me a vaccum controlled valvetronic muffler so I can go straight pipe back to stock sound at will. I love my PE, but I always wondered how straight through with resonators would sound, hit me up if you're in my area ever!

I've heard plenty of muffler deletes haha most people end up changing back though, what I wanted to hear was triggz setup of catless DP's with straight through exhaust and the vibrants since that would sound very similar to my setup if I removed the Performance mufflers and put on valvetronics.
