I thought there was a hydro pump repair kit for 170ish that can be replaced?
that's what I had done and been fine since!

Indeed there is. Has made the repair much easier to swallow compared to the £1200 replacement unit repair.

yeh thats what i had done myself. bought the part from dealers, had a local mechanic install it who f**ked it up, ended up taking car back to dealers to fix what he broke! (but thats another story, one that ended up with me going down the small claims route to get my money back!!)

lol

I had the same faulty abs unit in my Mazda - I posted info before, but just so no one misses it - I used a company called ecu-testing.com to fix it. £120 to swap the part, and £200 for the company to fix the abs unit. Hopefully that will save someone some cash!

Sorry to bump an old thread but Im not allowed to send PMs (being a newbie).

@Mud, I hope you don't mind, just wanted to ask about the legal route you seem to have taken. Did you represent yourself and did they settle before the hearing?

Any info would be greatly appreciated as I have the amber lights on my 55 plate 320d SE.

Thanks in advance.

I've had the warning lights on my car. I had the fault codes read and was getting a low voltage battery warning and several steering position sensor warnings. Faults were cleared and I've not had a problem since.

Don't automatically assume your DSC is dead!

Do you think you have legal or even moral redress on a 7 year-old car? Good luck but I suspect you're flogging a dead horse there.

I bought the 335d just a few months ago, within 3 weeks I had the dash light up with DSC/ABS lights. Took it in and they diagnosed DSC module failure and had it replaced under warranty. They said it was nearly £1,500 worth at the time (this January) - would have been painful - but just goes to show the extended warranty would be worth it on these kind of cars.

Maybe not but there's no harm in asking!

Abs problem

Hi all
Am after a bit of help. I have the exclamation mark with an anti clockwise arrow and the handbrake light on in my 1 series. I got my car MOT'd last week wednesday and on friday morning these 2 lights came on. Was told that they should go off after a few miles driving but they didn't. Had it plugged in at a friends garage and returned with the code 5e20 pressure centre 1. However, yesterday the light was off in the morning when I went to work. Then when i went out for lunch and started it up it was back on. Rang BMW and they said they thought it may be the ABS unit at a cost of £700+ but couldn't say for sure without plugging in (at a cost of £70!!!) also advised that would need to be done by BMW as it needs programming once the job is done or the light will remain on. (have since been told that this may not be the case(
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get this light off? Have just paid for MOT and service this month so could really do without a big cash outlay this month :-(

Hi

Did you get this sorted?

The advice I read is to get a good independent BMW specialist to sort it out (says the girl who is still driving around with the light on - dreading the MOT on Dec!).

Have you tried starting a new thread? Might get some more replies that way?
