brake fluid refill

hi,
my service light came on indicating that brake fluid needs to be refilled. is this something the dealer will top up at cost or do you guys just buy some from the dealer and refill yourself? I was planning to go in for an oil change and swap my summer tires soon so was just curious if the dealer would just top up for me.
Also, if i refill myself is there anything i would have to reset to get rid of the service light or does it just auto clear. I'm coming from a honda that doesnt have all these fancy sensors
Thanks.:

Cool

Not only do you need to refill the brake fluid, but also you need to "flush" your brake fluid. The dealers will usually charge you $140 for brake fluid flush, $132 for oil change, and $120 for swapping tires (there may be special deals at Otto's).
It will not autoclear. You have to reset it....The joy of owning a Bavarian Manure Wagon....
PM me if you want to do cheaper. I am in Ottawa.

Wow . Is this a normal interval to require brake fluid flushed? I've only got like 23,000 km on the car and its like 1.5yr old. I don't track and just do some spirited driving. I'm very suprised that it requires a flush already (thought it was just low and needed some topping up; btw, is the cap in front of the driver side the brake fluid reservoir? didn't see it in the manual). I guess brake fluid flush is not included in their 4yr maintenance coverage like the oil change?

Brake fluid is what they call Conditional Based Service. Normally you change the brake fluid every other year regardless the mileage.
The brake fluid reservoir is located under the plastic cover on the driver side.
The cap in front of the driver side maybe the power steering reservoir.
See my photo with the red circle.
You can ask if they can do the brake fluid flush for free.

I had my brake fluid flushed and filled before and it was covered under the warranty.
