Has anyone used Tisher BMW touchup paint?

Appreciate any replies...

I have this bug... small scratches piss the HELL off out of me... and I know that eventually all cars get small scratches from rocks and things, but I just wanted to know if you guys have used any of the Tisher BMW touch-up paint?

I know I know, this might belong under detailing.. but.. thought I'd ask the greater community that I know better...

It's OEM touch up paint, it's not made by Tischer, so it's not some magical touch up paint. It's OEM, plain and simple.

This will be moved to the detailing section, while you're there read stickies on how to repair scratches and such.

It's just like any other OEM touch-up paint, nothing special about it. There's only so much touch-up paint can do for scratches and chips. For the best repair, a repaint, for the 2nd-best, wet sanding, 3rd best and onward, touch-up paint kit like Langka or Dr. Colorchip.

Do read the detailing subforum to find out more about the aforementioned methods.

I have a sapphire black, and the OEM paint matches up real well...apparently Sapphire black peeps luck out as its one of the closest matches as far as paints go. Not sure what the other colors are at, but ive heard mixed reviews.

From my experiences, touch up paint is great for rock chips, but will be worthless for fine scratches. It will come with a paint brush the size of a qtip so application wont be the easiest for small scratches.

I have used the touch up kit. It works in the sense that it will keep the rust away.

It is hard to use. It does not look good either. I would use it to stop rust, but much better if you can wet sand or get it professionally done and clearcoated.

Has anyone seen the results of the OEM touchup paint and clear coat on Titanium Silver?

Also, how does the OEM stuff work? First you apply the paint, then you apply the clear coat on top of it? and then just let it dry?

I have used both Titanium Silver and Graphite as I have owned both colors.

As Canucklion said, make sure you shake it well.

You have to get the metallic flake well mixed. I had trouble getting the Graphite to match well.

I've heard #2 brushes and toothpicks...

I didn't say that, they all "work"

Just make sure that if it is a metallic color you shake it really well. I didn't shake it enough and the first time I tried the graphite it came out a little dark. I don't think the metallic flake was mixed well enough.

The brush that comes with the paint is useless IMO. I found it much too large for most chips. I bought some very small brushes at an arts and crafts store that had a very fine tip where the bristles stayed together so I could dab the paint in to small chips.

I also used the Langka kit which work very well.

I have the white one, it smells like my nail polish, and feels like a white-out liquid! The detailer suggest me to use it in combine with a sandpaper, so I'll do it tomorrow.

using a toothpick to apply the touch-up paint is much easier than the brush that comes with the bottle...more control on the amount of paint being applied on the spot
