Hey all - I've also been lurking on here for a while but never posted... Am pretty new to this forum thing but have successfully used the great DIY guides to change my kidney grilles to black.

I recently bought my first BM - a 57 plate, sapphire black E92 320d M-Sport Coupe. Have to confess, I'm loving it. I've always had hot hatches and diesel warm hatches but the new motor is ace.

There's some lovely cars on here and plenty of info and inspiration. Already done the kidney grilles and bluetooth/iPhone install. Future plans still tbc but probably custom stainless exhaust (twin pipes on the one side like the Hartge system), a remap (after 12 month warranty expires) and some factory-look window tints (perhaps)...

Quick question - anyone have BMW roof bars and cycle carriers? Or an alternative that's better? I'm a mountain biker so need to get some soon...

hi people -
can't understand how it happened but seem to be an owner of a 58 plate 335d m sport coupe lol
been looking for a car for a while but not a bm.
looked at the porsches, new mercs, and some stuff but nothing it the spot.
So had a look inside the coupe had a seat and all looked good all the buttons in the right places unlike the e46's and i-drive had changed.
With radio separate and heating all good i thought asked the dealer you got a 335d answer no !
Quick look on net and phone call later they could get the car i was interested in by 3 pm
so me and friend rolled up there in my e320 cdi, looked the car over and had the test drive and bang sold lol

So last weekend ordered rear lip spoiler and carbon defuser and black grill, next on the list eibach springs and the Q is paint the 225 m sport wheels black or get another set of wheels? what you guys think.
oh and then the remap dms or evolve ?
(and a trip to the ring )
any info would be great and pics on the wheels in black
thanks guys

Hello all!

Im looking for a E92 to replace my current lightly breathed on Astra SRi.

Pretty undecided between 320d, 325d and D3. Hoping to test drive them all and go from there!

Cheers!

I need to get me some roof bars. Anyone know if the BMW ones are compatible with Thule accessories (snowboard holder). I never realised the seats don't fold flat when I bought the car

My seats fold flat. It was an option I think. Have you not got the release handles in the boot?

Where are the handles? There are 2 wee things that look like handles near the back of the seat in the boot. I've not pulled at them to see what happens . The seat back isn't split so I assume it doesn't fold. I guess the original owner didn't spec them.

There are two handles in my boot at the top that show a seat folding. Have you got the centre through loading hole?

Thank you themetz - glad you find them easy to use. I think that'll be a good plan - pop into Ryedale rather than order some Thule ones from the net!

ElegantSpoon - I'm loving that carbon fibre interior trim. Is that by BMW Performance? Looks amazing!

Hey everyone I'm new on here aswell. I'm currently driving a 335i se steptronic, recently purchased her used from a bmw approved. This isn't my daily driver I have a mk6 Golf tdi for that. So she just gets used at weekends and the occasional trip to Europe.

My previous 'toy' before this was a 2004 evo 8 which i had tuned to slightly over 400bhp and 400 ft/lb. I loved it to bits however after owning it for around five years I needed a change and really got use to its brutal (and a bit laggy compared to the 335i) power delivery. I was also getting fed up of relliability issues, when taking a car to almost double its factory output everything starts to break, diffs, driveshafts, transmission etc.

I am much happier now with my bmw, have never really been too much of a fan of bmw's in the past however the "boost" in my blood made me go for this, I thought bmw and boost, sorted!

Great forum, much more in depth than the lancer register I have been a memeber of for so long.

The only thing I will do to my 335i is a remap or ecu chip (like jb3) other than that I trust bmw have used good enough parts, better than most aftermarket parts anyway.

Also I do not regret one bit buying the auto, coming from manuals having never owned an auto before I must say it is so much more efficient and makes sense unless you have a race track next door, which I dont!

Thanx it is the best looking interior I've had by far! I did it myself with carbon fibre fabric from the USA. If your interested I made a thread about it

Hi,

I'm new around here. Currently trying to complete the purchase of my fourth BMW - this time a E92 320d M Sport in Le Mans blue.

It has the usual refinements of leather, sat nav prov, 6FL, a few other bits with adaptive headlights and extended storage etc but most importantly the Logic 7 speaker system - or so I'm told!

Just waiting (for far too long) for my cherished transfer to be done before I can get my hands on it.

Hi,
Bought my first BMW just over 2 weeks ago and just ticked over 1000 miles today - it's a crimson red 2009/59 e90 320d SE Business Edition with heated leather, pro nav/voice/bluetooth, cruise, pdc front & rear, sun protection glass and gloss black trim.

Although it was pre-reg, the spec was nigh-on exactly what I would have chosen new, except I would have considered xenons and logic7. As it is, I can live without the former and I'm thinking of adding the Alpine upgrade in a few months time.

Loving the car so far , loving the RFTs less .

This forum is excellent, filled many hours before I picked up the car and has answered a few questions since.

Cheers

Thanks for above ElegantSpoon - it really does look amazing! Have read your post, and am really tempted to give it a go... Could be a recipe for disaster but hopefully not if I take my time - will look at the DIY guide before makling my mind up I think! Tempted though as my alu trim is a little tatty on the sides from taking seatbelt strikes - not me, was like it when I got the car...

Cheers for the advice though!

Had a good look ElegantSpoon and no handles for folding the seats flat and no centre through loading hole. They just weren't spec'd by the original owner (tight git). To be honest i'm not that fussed, i need roof bars anyway as i've got a 7ft surfboard that I need to get to the beach at the weekends. There's no way it would fit in the car even the seats did fold flat.
