Recommended apps for amateur tunning, fault codes and options coding

Hello everybody;
I am very new to the forum. I recently purchased my very first BMW and she is a 2008, E93 - 335i! Maybe not the right choice for the 1st Bimmer! Well, I can't live in piece and love trouble!

I am a mechanic myself and have a relatively well equipped garage and would like to have my hands dirty in the N54 and other stuff in E93. I mostly restore classic american cars (60s and 70s) and so, I am little far from the electronics of the cars like this. To add more fun to the journey, I am going to buy some apps for easy occasional remaps and also to read and manage the fault codes as well as being able to play with the option codes and customize them to my own taste.

For the tuning and remap, I could find MHD recommended by professionals and read about it a lot. Also, for the coding and managing the faults, I saw some videos from Carly app that seems user friendly.

Now, I want to ask the opinions of pros in the forum to give me suggestions and opinions to help me find the right apps. I live in Iran with all the limitations that made every simple purchase a nightmare to transfer the money and have the unit shipped, so I want to do it once and to the best possible level right.

Your replies are highly appreciated in advance.

Agreed

Don't bother with carly, it's basic and overpriced.

+1

Protools is a really good scanning app! Its my main source to read codes. It very convenient, simple to use, and importantly you can even code with it if/when your injectors fail on you.

I just use MHD for the MAPS. I haven't played too much with MHD since mainly I use protools. (I'm not sure if MHD has coding features)

Unpopular opinion on this forum, but I'd say get JB4 and the MHD BEF.

Is it possible to introduce new remote and key with Protool?
