Injector Compression Tool Saga

Hi. I was installing new injector seals on a set of injectors I have and the final compression seal became stuck on the injector. Apparently it's a common issue with the injector tool I have. In the process of removing the tool from the injector we've marred up the injector body/housing a bit just before the tip. Attached are some pics of the damage.

Does this look like the injector can be used, or should I be cautious and just not use it at all? The damage appears to not be in an area of sealing since it's all above the injector seal and tip entirely. But wondering if anyone has any experience with this?

Thanks!

Yikes! What tool was that? They're only supposed to compress the seal on the top, not even touch the second part where it's wider.

Since the tip is what seals and that looks to be fine they should probably be ok. Are there any ridges or is it smooth and the scuffs are just cosmetic?

Tell me about it! You need some superhuman strength to remove the last compression tool. I say its fine, smooth down any rough ridges clean it up and reinstall.

Thanks guys! The ridges can be felt with my finger. I can sand sand them down and it would be smooth again. Just don't want to cause and future bore issues.

I ended up smoothing out the scuffs and installing the injector. Works great!
