Welcome Lights & Coding

Hey all,

I did my first coding session earlier this week and was able to successfully code almost everything that I wanted...however...

My number one thing to code was, of course, the Corner Delete Mod. I successfully cut off my corner lights just like I wanted, but in the process I lost my Angel Eyes as Welcome Lights.

The interior lights and door LEDs still work as the Welcome Lights, and the corner lights flash when I unlock, but I do not get my Angel Eyes. The Angel Eyes ARE working as DRLs still. Corner lights are always off (but still blink as turn signals).

What have I done wrong? I have attached a screenshot of an error that NCS has given me, as well as my latest PSW_FSW file. The PSW_FSW feels like it is a lot longer than it should be. Can you help me see my error? *Please note that I have not "updated" any of the daten files.*

The car is a 2007 e92, build date 01/2007.

OK I determined why I was getting the error from NCS Expert...I was setting the line
"WL_SL_1" as "aktiv" when it should have been "soft_einschalten" - this fixed the error.

This did not, however, cause my Angel Eyes to come on when I unlock the car. The rear Daytime Running Lights from the taillight are also not coming on.

To do the "Corner Delete Mod" I changed the value of "SIDEMARKER_US" to "nicht_aktiv" - again, the corners are now off when the headlights are on but my Angel Eyes do not work for the Welcome Light.

Does anyone have any ideas what my problem may be?

I just had the same issue. I'm guessing you changed more than the SIDEMARKER_US to nicht_aktiv to do the corner delete. This was the only thing I needed to change.
When I chaged WL_POL to nicht_aktiv I got the same issue as you so change it back to soft_einschalten and it should solve your problem.
My issue is that now my welcome lights do have the corner lights on.

This is crucial ^^^

I was having the same issue. It took coding about 7 E92s to realize what was happening... the spreadsheet has gotten so jumbled over time I've started renaming a lot of things so they're more obvious. The corner delete options for E92s are insane... because with the E90 all you need is the SIDEMARKER_US (and the longer names) set to nicht_aktiv to make the corner bulbs not work.

The spreadsheet is a little wild. There are two sections for bulb testing!

So which parameters do you need to change for e92 in order to properly code the corner deletes with everything else functioning like normal?

I have yet to return to this...my welcome lights (angel eyes) come on as normal, but now the corner LED is on...it is also on when my headlights are on, which is what I really wanted to avoid. The "big" turn signal lights are off now. Additionally, the rear brake lights do not turn on with the welcome lights.

Grant,

What's the correct parameter to change for corner deletes (since there are so many on the list)?

Does anyone know how i can get my Depo angel eyes to come on when i unlock the car?

Car is 2007 e90, it has nfrm, i've coded it for xenons, i've checked that the wl_sl_1 & wl_sl_2 are both set to "soft_einschalten" but no joy! i'd like to get the number plate lights to come on too but the only welcome lights i get are the door handles.

It doesn't have auto headlights/wipers, and i know on the lci halogen e90's the light switch has to be on auto for the AE's to work as welcome lights, so could this be my problem? If so could there be a way to code them to come on with the switch in off position?

I have now found a way to do this, if the headlight switch is left on dipped beam then all the welcome lights work!

Bit of a PITA having to remember to do that every time you get out of the car though, so i'd still love to know if it's possible to get them with the switch off!

No, unless you have automatic headlight switch. If yes just put it to auto and welcome lights should work.

If you have an FRM1 which you may since you have 07 (early production 07s did) you don't have Welcome Lights

Hi, thanks for the reply.

I do have welcome lights, the door handle ones work what ever positon the switch is in, but the licence plate, angel eyes, tail lights etc only work if switch is in position 2 (low beam).

I have tried all th WL_ options in the NFRM, but maybe there something in nettodat or VO etc? Or maybe another module?

How are you so sure there's no way to code it?
