Laser - Road block, I have a V1 but there was not enough time as I already hard brake when the cars in-font of me hard brake…

Also spoke to another lawyer friend that he said that normally it really doesn’t matter how fast you were going or how many times you are above the speed limit…. According to him the max limit set is above 45km/h which is 10points or they can also charge you for illegal racing which is 10points….. The judges have a certain guidelines but it also depends on the season or mood of the judge…..

In my case I was above the speed limit and was actually charged for illegal street racing (no matter what for the guidelines for first time offender is 3months + Fine or inc jail time if anyone was injured or harmed in the process) but was subsequently dropped to just speeding over 45/km (section 41 5B) as written on my charge form….

Anyway, it’s over and as I said before becareful while driving now, esp. when you don’t have enough points…. It sucks for me as I have been waiting and hunting for a new car and I just collected it on Monday when my lisc was revoked on Wednesday. Now I gotta wait 1 year to retake my lisc (witht hat ugly p plate) then I can play with my toy which is no longer new….

Ken Ken,

Sorry to hear this very bad news, Brother!!! I really don't know what to say and perhaps, I should either pray for myself or start looking for a 2,000cc family 7 seat car and turning to be a mid age driver like most of those family man on the road....with a Sticker + Personalized License Number as "I love my Family"........Not sure if it is time to give up my Gangster looking 335 E92....huh!

Feel a bit touching for yr friendly warning!! Indeed, I feel a bit of scare.....as you drove my ride a few times, it is frankly almost impossible to drive within legal speedlimit and many times, my speeding occurence is somewhat unintentional which I don't even know I've speeding until I look at my dometer!! That's why 2,000cc 7 seater idea popped up upon comprehended how hard to drive slow with this monster driving machine!

Suri, I heard you loud and clear, my respectful lady racer....There won't any supporting drive to work hard if this is the final destiny, in my perspective!!

So ken ken, did the car in front of u get the same penalty?

The cops could of only read the front cars speed but not urs! So they can guess ur speed and charge u?

It's been a while since I've read this forum since I left in HK. But sorry to hear you got busted Ken Ken. Still, don't mean to be harsh, but you were doing 158 km in a 50km soon, admit it, that's pretty extreme speeding, so you can't expect the judge to be in a forgiving mood. I mean, what if some pedesterian or other car can't dodge you in time? Are you so sure your driving skills are so great that you need not worry about that? Anyhow, by "spirited" driving I hope you aren't driving the same way like this "driver" here:

Darn, got busted today while driving through Tsing Yi, got fined $450 and 3 points, the good thing is that it is relatively minor since I still have plenty of points left. This is another incentive to get that radar detector I've been wanting to get, but never got around to getting. Valentine 1 (is that strictly online only?-I heard they don't ship it to HK) or Passport 9800? Which is the best store to get those radar detectors again?

I heard there are driving courses for me to restore my 3 points, if I take it, I will get back to a "clean" 15 points. Is this course worth taking to get back my 3 points?

These driving courses / system is funny.. What are you going to learn? How not to step on your gas pedal when you have 300 bhp engine screaming for speed????

You can get Valentine 1 in HK ... I got mine here. As for the driving class they are really boring and not worth it - you have loads of points left. I think you get some points back every 2 yrs.

Thanks for the info. Just wondering how reliable is V1? I heard it can't detect speed cameras. But can it catch most police radar bands and laser in HK? I don't want to spend close to HK$4000 on a detector that can't catch radar bands and consequently get me more points deducted.

I think you should get it ... Mine detects speed camera fine. Alot of the time they are actually off. But I get good prewarning with the Val 1 since in traffic the radar bounces off the cars in front. Well worth the money.

Can you recommend me a trustworthy store to buy v1 from? I think it was mentioned before, but can't seem to find it. Thanks.

I bought mine for $3800 in a store in Mongkok ... on that street of car shops. Forgot what it is called. They sell them in all the stores there. Just look for the best price.

Alrdy sent you a few shots via email and hope, it is good enough for you to figure the fitment of Carbon 8's CF Vented Hood fo our E92!!! Again, it is for visual appearance rather aimed for any weight reduction for the Hood while our original Hood is not that heavy though!! Have fun......
