Depends somewhat upon what size tires you're looking for. While Michelin makes OEM BMW Star tires for sport package, other manufacturers made non-sport pack tires (Continental, Dunlop, Goodyear, Pirelli). Tirerack has almost all of them. |

They are all ungodly heavy, ungodly expensive, of mediocre performance and provide horrendous ride quality. Furthermore, the illusion of "peace of mind" is just that. Take two identical 3 series cars, one with stock RFTs and one with conventional tires and a temporary spare. Each gets a puncture on a lonely interstate late at night. TPMS goes off and RFT guy slows down and limps the car 15 miles down the road and gets a hotel. Conventional tire guy changes to the spare and limps down the road to the same hotel. Next day, RFT guy drives over to Joe Bob's tire shop who has never stocked a RFT for a BMW. Furthermore, he refuses to patch the tire because it was compromised by being driven on for miles. Now RFT guy has a choice. Buysomething in a similar size in a non-matching tire to get down the road or wait 2 days for a $300 tire. Conventional tire guy is already 30 miles down the highway after paying $30 for a repair.
