Just ordered E90 330i m-sport !
Like it says I just ordered a brand spanking new 330i m-sport.
Sapphire Black Metallic with Pro Nav, Bluetooth and through load system. I traded in my 530d cause I wanted something a little bit more fun and I couldn't wait for the 335i m-sport saloon. I'd be interested to know if any other forum members have swapped an e60 for an e90 and see how they think the cars compare. |

Congrats. I trust you made sure it will have the new uprated 265hp engine?

bmw.co.uk show the 330i as having a 258hp (190kw) N52 engine. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BMW_N52 I also know about this one which will be in the 335i http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BMW_N54 So what's this about an upgraded engine for the 330i? |

I've also gone for the alcantara - couldn't see the point of leather when the alcantara is included in the price and is so nice anyway. Plus I have leather in my 530d and it's not great to get into on a hot day! Did you go for many options - I just got pro-nav, through load and the bluetooth kit. Wondering now if I should maybe add the hifi loudspeaker option. |

Hi needforspeed,
The current one is the older N52 engine and the new one is the Si version, with 272bhp and a 0-60mph of 6.1 seconds. But they are making more noise about the fuel consumption, there is approx. a 15-20% saving over the N52 engine. September production gets the new engine apparently. |

The 335i has direct injection (injector fits straight into the combustion chamber) as well as the bi-turbo's. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gasoline_Direct_Injection BMW say that they have avoided turbo's in the past cause of the affect they have on economy and that the direct injection increases MPG and so makes the turbo viable. It would make sense that the 330i would get the DI as well, but I have a feeling my car might just miss out. I've got a call out to the dealer anyway cause an increase in fuel economy would be more than welcome. I also want to add hifi loudspeakers - are they any good? |

Definitely worth upgrading the speakers as the standard ones in the saloon are really poor.
I would get them to hold he car back a month to get the new engine, it is meant to be a peach. |

I upgraded to the hifi speakers (but not the Logic 7). They're OK, but don't expect home hifi standards. The OEM system I had in my Golf Plus sounded better than BMW's so-called hifi.

So no hifi speakers (nevermind I'll have a straight 6 to listen to). On the subject of the DI they said BMW UK confirmed release of the following new engines yesterday: 335i coupe 328i coupe 330i coupe also something about a new 325d I think. Anyway - no announcement about a new engine for the 330i saloon so even if I didn't have a build date I wouldn't know how long to delay. Looks like the sequence will be 335 coupe and 328 coupe on the 23rd Sept, then the 330 coupe sometime after, with the saloon engine updates bringing up the rear - probably into October at the earliest. So I am where I started - which is OK 258 bhp 3.0l straight six plus a six speed manual - sounds fun enough for me. I always new about the 335i - so I was prepared for my car not to be top of the 3-series line up in a couple of months. |

I missed out on heated seats as my car was being built already don't know what week but the dealer mentioned a shut down in the factories during August but I am not so sure about that I'll take that as a pinch of salt. One assumes the dealers has to pay BMW GMBH once the car is shipped and I bet that's the real reason
Nought wrong with listening to a straight 6, I needed logic7 as mine has a diesel rumble which is not quite the same as a silky smoth straight 6. |

He definitely said 325d. To be honest I wasn't thinking (I have an e60 at the moment and there is already a 525d) so I didn't ask any further - I was more interested in the 330i. I'm pretty sure this engine is coming, don't know when though and expect it will hit the coupe first. I would GUESS it will be the 525d engine (2500cc / 177 bhp) but we will have to wait and see. |
