This might be a stupid question but do we have to re-do the custom tuning if we've done it on the previous (7/29) maps, or can we apply the settings to the new maps and assume they'll have the same results?

You can go ahead and keep the same settings.

If we have Intake and an upgraded IC but no DP's, which STG (rev 2) is appropriate?

Also, non-DD is pre 29.2, correct?

You can disconnect it since you have DTC switching now. Save it though. Because we are going to use it for meth

Stg 2 should be good for you. But remember that you have the ability to confirm the stability/aggressiveness of your map with the CANbus logging feature. So don't be afraid to do that. It will only make your car drive better and better.

I've Rev II w canbus installed on my car. After I upgrade to the new firmware, can I still use my remote to switch map? I don't really like the idea of switching map with DTC button.

Yes you can but you will have to enable that feature (see the documentation that i posted with the maps). Just note that remote relay induced mapswitches do not induce SES map indication flashes so you wont necessary know what map you are on by looking at the dash. And you would only get access to two maps. Personally, I vastly prefer the DTC switching feature. Very soon, it will give you access to 5 maps.

I rather disappointed that you removed the map indication feature from this upgrade I think many ppl like me don't really need (care) about switching between 5-6 maps.

The difference is that we are going to make the DTC mapswitching feature persistent. So that the map you turn your car off on will be the map it starts on. We can't do that with the 2 pole remote relay set-up. That's better left for meth flow detection and meth map activation.

It's really hard developing the system while also keeping backwards compatible with rev.1. We're doing the best we can but sometimes we can't be as flexible as we want to be when satisfying the preferences of everyone.

You are doing a great job! Putting the car in valet when I drop it off to an independent shop, or when letting the GF drive it, and having it stay in that map when the car is restarted is the way to go.

Rev 1 Map Switching Clarification:

Just wanted to note that since the relay is plugged in and has power, you will hear it click regardless if "Future Use" is set to 0 or 1.

But as per the instructions, I'm assuming that map switching will only work if it is set to 1.

So the operation of valet mode has also changed? Currently, my car is always started in valet mode. I prefer this way because I don't need to remember to switch back to valet mode before shutting down the car.

Right now, it works just as it always has.

Thanks Shiv. Pre 29.2 is non-DD? Anything after is DD, right?

yep.. although the new beta maps I posted up are officially nonDD. Those who run them should either have a BT tool or a Rev.II for possible tuner code clearing (prior to dealership visit).

We will develop a DD version of these maps eventually. But not for several weeks.

+1

Shiv, per your note: New Beta Software Features (Rev.II Only):, if we have Rev.1 and the New Beta Software Features are RevII Only, what benefit will Rev.1 users derive, if any, from uploading the new firmware/maps?

As always,

Yes, the maps are for both rev 1 and rev 2 users. Rev 1 users just wont have access to the CANbus related features which means 80% of the general performance but little of the convenience (code reading/clearing, map display, diagnostic display, CAN logging, etc). Still a worthy update though. Try it!

Shiv, I've got to go in for service to have my DSC module replaced, and I don't have a warranty at this point. Can I just leave the V3 in there or will it bring up difficulties when they code the new module/update my progman?

There should not be any issues with leaving the PROcede installed. But it cant hurt taking it out. Only takes 10 min.
