can't find NFL on Sirius - wtf?
I can't find NFL games on Sirius, though they're allegedly all there. Under the "sports" category, only a few channels, no NFL games. I've tried to figure out how to manually enter a channel# from the Sirius list of NFL channels and can't get that to work either. What am I missing??

I know what channels the games are on - my tuner (non-iDrive) does not show those channels under the "sports" category, nor any other.. and I can't find a way to direct-tune them. What am I missing??

Just scoll up there in channel jumps of 10, then swith to manual so you can go every channel. I don't know how other to explain it. I'd have to be sitting in the car.
Sirius does take some practice. Took me about a week to get comfortable with all the channels and ways my old radio could be set. Then I got the BMW and had to somewhat re-learn haha. You'll get it. Just keep playing with it.

The thing is some channels in the news area get dropped on sundays. Then the football games are broadcast on them. So it might not actually say there is a game on that channel. Take the list above; the Browns/Bengels game was on 118 & 122. 118 is typically RadioClassics and 122 is Sports Byline USA, but on that sunday it was used to play the football game. The NFL home channel is 124. Sirius isn't obviously going to create more channels just to not broadcast anything on them except for sunday. People complain about there not being enough bandwith as it is.

This is an annoyance that I've just recently discovered. Yes, to find NFL, you can't search via categories since, on Sundays, regular stations are replaced with NFL games. But you have to know which stations are replaced.
Now for a rant . . . on my Acura TL with XM, XM allotted certain channels in the upper portions for sports. NCAA football, basketball, MLB sports, or whatever sport was in season. Those channels would display the game with scores, like Sirius. However, when the game wasn't on, it just displayed when it would be on and a computerized voice would say that this XM program has not yet started. The benefit is, if you just like sports or wanted to channel surf to find a game, you could just flip through the sports sections and find one. Unfortunately, if you don't plan ahead, you can't do that with Sirius. This is one of the reasons why I'm really debating not renewing my Sirius and switching to an aftermarket XM receiver. |

I had no idea -- how are we supposed to know this??
I have often been driving on a Sunday and trying to find games, assuming they would all be in the Sports section. I thought they only broadcast 2 or 3. I can't believe they wouldn't use the idrive display to let people know. Or run commercials. I suppose you have to go to the Sirius website to learn the list of channels? Is there any rhyme or reason as to which channels change over to carry the games?

Guys, I *still* haven't been able to reel in NFL games (other than a couple on mainstream channels). The channels just aren't listed when I scroll through what's avaialble - there are large gaps where the ballgames are located, and for the life of me I can't figure out how to direct-tune a channel that's I can't scroll to. This is a NON-iDrive head unit. What the hell am I missing??

Go to the "All Channels" thing and tune that way?

Guys,
It is very simple. Just go to sirius.com and get the schedule. Then tune your radio to that channel. I can't understand why you are having so many issues. I hope you figure it out. I have not had issues listening to the Giants when I am in the car on Sundays. Sorry for those of you who are non-Giants fans.
