Removing intake on 328xi for cleaning

Im planning to do the plugs and was thinking i shouldnt have much ahead to remove the intake such that i can clean the valve/port area.

Are there any gotchas? Just wondering if its as simply undoing the manifold bolts after removing the cover and airbox and a few electrical connectors.

Thanks

yeah, that's pretty much it... are u replacing plugs with OEM ones or something "performance" you're experimenting with?
After 58k miles i expected my throttle body port and valve to be filthy but was to my surprise it had very little debris... use rubbing alcohol and a soft towel and you should be in the game

cleaning isn't really needed on the N52 because it still uses port injection, and the intake ports/valves are bathed in gasoline, keeping them clean. When I did the manifold swap on my car with about 75,000 miles, the intake ports and valves were spotless.

but, if you really want to do it, feel free. it's kinda a PITA tho. removing the cover and airbox is only the tip of the iceberg for a manifold R&R.
