Oil Change Question.. Change or Wait another 1200 miles?

Okay, here's my situation. I'm driving my car to from SF to LA on Friday and....

My car is a 2009 335i E92 and currently has 13,800 miles. The last oil change I did was at 7500 miles and that was over a year ago. Over the last year I've only put about 1000 miles on the car. (I worked far so I had a beater commuter).

Anyways, my car has not reached 15,000 miles yet so I have not performed an inspection 1. But, it has been over a year (almost 2 to be exact, in another 3 months).

So here is my questions,

Should I get the Inspection 1 service done even if I havent hit 15,000 miles yet? Or, wait another 1200 miles when I HIT 15,000 miles?

Or, get it done anyways because it's been well over a year?

Oil is based on use not timing right?

Thanks in advance for everyones feedback!!

I'd say change it if it's been over a year since the last.

The dealer will perform an annual low mileage oil change for no charge if it has been 1 year since the last one so you might as well get it changed.

You are entitled to one free oil change a year

They don't give you and Inspection 1 till 30k now it used to be 15k on the e46.
You are probably close to one of those time base changes like brake fluid to.

usually, if you're within 1000 miles from the scheduled oil change the dealer will change it for free.

The free annual oil change policy has changed. They will only do the annual oil change if it has been less than 6,000 miles since the last oil change.
