2009 E93 M3 - LCI taillight install - rear fogs now on permanently?
Installed LCI BMW genuine taillights + harnesses on my 2009 M3 today. All new, genuine parts. 10/2008 build 2009 MY car.
Rear fogs now ON whenever lights are on, instead of the inner LED tubes. If I code this, will that fix itself? See RIGHT side of first pic (left side is still pre-LCI), and the second pic. PS I haven't messed with the car otherwise, 100% stock. Weird as my research doesn't find this having happened to anyone else on e92/e93 (ie what happens when you DON'T code your LCI taillights). I'm getting bulb chk and fast turn signals of course which I expected. Pretty sure the harnesses only install one way, so I don't think I incorrectly hooked em up. If anyone is curious or this happens to anyone else. Figured it out. The harnesses have a LL and RL indication. So even though they look the same, one is for the left, one is for the right. There are stickers on the harness from BMW. One is right, one is left. The STICKERS FROM BMW WERE BACKWARDS ON MINE (L is drivers in US and R is passengers in US). No clue... but pretty confusing and/or sloppy on BMW's part. But I'm a happy hippo now.
