Gauging Interest: True Dual/Quad Exhaust for 325i/328i/330i

Hey guys, I am just here to see if there is any interest on the forum for an exhaust system that is a true dual/quad exhaust for the N52 engine (325i,328i,330i).

This exhaust would require the secondary cat delete and would have an X-pipe with 2 race mufflers. Most of the systems on the market only have 1 muffler and have piping that makes it look like it has quads but this would be a "true" dual/quad system.

If there shows to be interest, I will start selling a system like this in the vendor/sponsor section of the forum once everything is complete.

This is what the exhaust looks like on the developer's car: (Quad tips are available if you would like)

Would this require the new trunk bin and heat shielding and relocating of pieces underneath? Otherwise it would have to have some wild bends and piping. And new bumper too.

The video doesn't show it well, but right at the beginning, you can briefly see the two mufflers together, but the driverside muffler has a single pipe out to the driverside tips while the other muffler next to it has the pipe go up towards the body and then run behind the bumper towards the passenger side tips.

Basically the setup here has the same "layout" as your basic 1 muffler to quad tips, except this one uses 2 super narrow mufflers next to each other instead of one.

It's a pretty good idea for an alternative to having to swap out the trunk floor pan, etc..

Are you using the X-pipe to limit some drone or attempting to use it for scavenging effects? If the latter, have you moved it around the exhaust to find if you can produce a better and wider torque increase?

I'd love to get something like this setup, but Im afraid with my catless headers and something like this, it would be unbearably loud.

I do not have all of the details yet because we are just exploring the idea of carrying this and we are not developing the exhaust ourselves.

Umm... This thread is either a marketing scam or trolling because this guy was selling this "custom setup" for around $1300 so I don't know why he is telling you guys he doesn't know the price.

Take the vid to your local exhaust shop, they can do the same for fraction of what this guy is asking.

When I asked him to justify the price he said it due to his "research and development fees".

Save yourselves the trouble and go for local exhaust shop.

I was speaking to a company called Project M and was asked if I wanted to sell their products. This is the reason I am gauging interest, havent carried exhausts in the past. I have never "sold" or even talked about this system in the past. I think that you spoke to someone else in the incident that you are talking about.

Hey Alex if something like this were to come up for sale I would be a customer. Just wondering if there was a possibility of doing the exhaust tips coming out more towards the center of the rear bumper like the M3 exhausts. I am located in the valley and do you guys have a garage around here.

Regardless of the who you are, the origin of these exhaust is ProjectM.

Overcharged system that a local exhaust can do the same for about the fraction of the price.

My advice to everyone is DO NOT pay over a grand for a subpar system. Go get BMW PE for that price.

Unless you are selling this for about $600 price range, don't even bother

Just an FYI about interest. Detailaddict made a mandrel bent system that dyno'd to make gains and it is high quality. A lot of people messaged about being interested but it doesn't look like too many people actually laid the money down when it was ready. As a percentage, I don't know how many who say yes will actually buy. Maybe 25%.

I'm interested in seeing how the piping is laid out to the passenger side. Looks like both mufflers are on the same side..
