Difference between modified CDV distributors?
So I've seen some different distributors selling modified CDV valves for different prices and I'm not sure which one to go with. There is the new RiXeffects that I just came across for $26 shipped, Riss Racing for $29 shipped, and Zeckhausen for $35 + shipping. What's the difference? Are they all modified stock valves?

I ended up going with Zeckhausen after speaking with David Zeckhausen. I'm not sure what the differences are with the other distributors you mentioned, but I know the Zeckhausen product is a modified stock CDV with the interior removed. The CDV is not drilled out (I recall seeing some that were when I was shopping around) and since the valve is stock, it has the correct part # on the exterior and won't raise any suspicion by a service technician that may glance at it.

Are you serious? That's all there is to it, and they are charging $30 for that? Maybe there's more involved in removing the insides, that's trickier than what you say?

Well, I did it (bought a riss racing one from a member here for $15 - didn't want to mess with it myself) and this modded CDV makes a world of difference. Seriously.

I wanted to get a stock one to make sure there are no issues at the dealer. Not just one that looks like stock... |
