My 2008 e92 335i Monaco Blue...and a few previous cars

Hi All. I purchased a 2008 335i with Manual trans and iDrive from Carmax over Thanksgiving. I just installed the M3 trunk spoiler from Tischer, washed it and finally took some pics. It has just over 48K. Nothing too impressive - there are probably 100 pics of cars that look exactly the same, so I'll post up a couple of my former cars to mix it up a little. I have the OEM front lip and rear window spoilers in my garage waiting to get painted and installed, but that will come at tax return time.

Previous Car - 2004 Acura TL Manual Trans w/ Navi (was a GREAT CAR) Had to trade it it to get an Odyssey for the wife.

is there a motor in there somewhere?

And here is my baby from years ago. I learned A LOT from this car. I would buy this car back if I could find where it was.

1997 Honda Prelude w/ Manual Trans

Thanks for looking!

Well, unfortunately my wife is giving me the heisman pose when it comes to too many performance upgrades. She was not a fan of the ride in the Prelude with the H&R sport springs and KYB AGX suspension. Plus, I paid an additional 2.5K for the Carmax bumper to bumper warranty that will last through 5 years or 125k miles. I don't want to do anything that could jeopardize the warranty.

HOWEVER, I'm really toying around with getting the JB4 and SSK. There are a few maintenance issues I need to get checked out - namely the intermittent steering column whine and walnut shell blasting. I would normally get an aftermarket exhaust, but I'm pretty impressed with the sound of the stock exhaust with the vacuum hose disconnected.

Jb4/procede/cobb you won't be disappointed with either! And you can set them all to stock so the Mrs won't notice lol

I did the walnut shell blasting at around 68k miles.. I did not have that much carbon buildup (it's really only an issue if you idle the car a lot). I definitely recommend it for smooth idle and smooth acceleration

Yes - the secret is to order and have it shipped to work. What I really like is that, from what I've researched, it's undetectable. My only concern is a drop in gas mileage. I know I'm not driving a Prius, but I don't drive a Hummer either. I passed up on a mint condition 03 M5 w/ 45K miles because the gas mileage wasn't any better than the Pathfinder I was driving (that's how I convinced the wife to let me get the 335).

The problem with the walnut blasting is that I really don't know what the intake valves look like - meaning would I just be throwing money out the window. I have no idea how the previous owner drove the car, so it's really just a gamble. I plan on taking advantage of a group buy at a local dealership.

I see you're from Northern NJ - I lived in Hackensack for 3 years before moving down to NC back in 2005. My wife is from Ridgefield Park and my brother currently lives in Teaneck. I had my Prelude all over the back roads around the Franklin Lakes.

That's funny, I came from a 2007 Acura TL-S to a Monaco blue e92 as well.

I hear that! As far as gas mileage, and I'm speaking for the procede only.. it doesn't affect gas mileage under normal driving conditions.. I average more now than when I first got the car.. so it really is more a matter of driving habits.. and having that extra power there when you want it.. Chances are the previous owner did not get the valves cleaned so if you can get a good deal on it (I paid 500, but there are better deals around) it is definitely worth it!! And I love the back roads around here.. but there are definitely a lot of roads that take a beating.. I have a friend that went to NC state and he said the roads are better down there so ENJOY!

$26K - it had right at 47k miles when I got it. I did purchase the extended, BtB warrantly through 125K miles from Carmax for an additional $1,750.

NICE! i have the exact same color combo and i love it. That interior is a bitch to keep clean though. Mine was just like yours when new, but now the interior is more like your TL's interior color. LOL
