Just to clarify, if I wanted to add vibrant resonators on a stock exhaust setup, I would use the 1790 ones instead of the 1792 correct?

JZ: there should be no performance difference between the two except 2.5" (1792) vs 2.25" (1790) in/outlet diameters. For 1792 you'd need couplers to match the stock 2.25" mid-pipes diameter...so more welding and shop work! My vote is 1790...

Sidebar: now that I have had my kittyless c-PE DPs on for a while, I'm loving the sound (especially the pops & gurgles which are due to unburnt fuel). The only cons are, just like the OP said, waking up the neighbors in the morning (crazy loud starts) and the dreaded rasp.

Question: we know from the OP's testimony that installing Vibrant will completely kill the rasp and loud starts, but will it also tame the 'normal driving' sounds? My car sounds mean, till I get to 5k when it gets Civic like...essentially returning the car to stock sound?

It will for sure take the cruise part of the sound from exhaust and make it not as loud The gurgles and burps will be still there but not as loud and tin can sound of a gurgle. If you like the loud exhaust note I think this mod is probably going to be too much for you especially if you have secondary cats also. I just like to be catless with a slightly stock like exhaust tone.

Sorry CN, what do you mean by "cruise part of the exhaust"? I can live with everything else in my car, sans rasp and crazy loud starts...

from my understanding the 2008 stock exhaust doesnt have any resonators so adding resonators almost kill all the low rpm pops and gurgles ... I have to put my car in DS to get them back.

x-ception, I'm going to follow suit and install a pair of 1790 resonators just like you...thanks for posting it!

I just came from my local muffler shop: they looked underneath and the only concern they might have is fitting it underneath the heat shield. Did you have to bend it so that they would fit?

EDIT: I plan on keeping the 2ndary cats...

Not sure if the heat shield was bent but as long as its not touching anything it can be bent safely; I did it for my donwpipes, also my shop cut a little bit off the outer pipes of the resonators as they stick out too much.

I just had my mufflers deleted. They put in magnaflow resonators and used my stock tips. The work was done at AMSMotorwerks in Linden NJ. They did great job installing them and this by no means is there issue.

The sound is nice when you on the throttle hard, when you cruise at 2000 rpms
the drone is crazy. I myself can't deal with it and my Fiance gave me an earful on our way to dinner last night.

I've since ordered Magnaflow Part #14336 (Muffler), Magnaflow, Part #35125 (3.5 inch tips). I plan on having the resonators moved towards the center of the car and install these new items. This is the same thing that Mr.5 had done and reports that no drone is heard.

My car is 6mt and I thought I could get around the drone but apparently not the case. I'll report back once installed, at most gives us another option.

Having no mufflers is definitely drone city! I am sure after the muffler install it will get rid of most of the drone, if not then the magnaflow resonators are not doing their job.
I had some drone and alot of rasp, once the vibrant resonators were installed the drone was almost none existent and rasp was totally gone.

When you say 2 res and stock res do you mean each exhaust has a total of 3 resonators per side? You also have no muffler too right?
