technically someone could

sell their iphone 4 or 4s for $200-350

cancel their current phone contract $350 early termination fee

get a new iPhone 5 with 2 year agreement $199

and save $500

lol this is true; but the typical person doesn't feel like going through all of that lol.

also we're in that current time where people are paying extra to have it now..the 16 and 32 gb's are sold out everywhere

Fwiw the apple store in Greenwich CT had plenty of iPhone 5 in stock all sizes and carriers.

I was going to get one then realized that a iPhone without jailbreak is worthless.

Do they still have them? A buddy of mine stayed overnight at the apple store in greenwich last night and when I went to see him there were around 6 other people who were already in line. This was at 6PM yesterday

Now that's a mad tech gadget junky there! Ordered mine 6 am online and got it at my house 12pm today. Why would anyone wait overnight at a store!! Lol

Hahah I have no idea but I heard people were lined up at the fifth avenue store last week... I ordered mine at 12 PM online and it wound up shipping yesterday. I should have it sometime mid next week

FWIW, I called them at 4PM and they said they had plenty of all the models left. I don't think the Apple Store employee would lie about something like that.

Well i'm sure they got a ton of iphones cause it's a pretty big store. I really wanted to go pick one up but my order shipped before I could cancel it to go grab one today

I was able to always grab something "waltzing in on launch day" at Greenwich. Their sales tax is a ton better than NYC's 8.875% too. I work like 15 minutes away so it's not much of a drive either.

Oh well, I shall wait until jailbreak is released

Yea they usually stock a good amount for launch days. After playing around with my friend's for a while I can't wait until mine comes even if the jailbreak isn't out for a while. It's so much faster and also kinda weird how much lighter/thinner it is
