Gentlemen.
Have my car for a year now and decided to get a taste of more power! Ordered my cobbap and have cylinder 6 misfire on drive and sport Switched to stock map and runs fine. Car is stock with M3 reps 19" and matte black grilles.
Plugs/coils never changed at 47000km.
Will be ordering a brand spanking set soon.

Any tips/advice?

Anyone recommend local shop for plugs and coils? (usually order from USA)

Been reading the site for a while and impressed with the database of info already posted.

My first contribution in next thread.

Forum member Joe had the exactly same problem like you, cobb tune and then 5 or 6 misfire, we just change the plugs and coils for him and it works fine now. You can get them from turnermotorsport or locally, price would be roughly 20 bucks.
Hope your car be fine soon.

Sorry for pulling an old thread to life but I'm just going through this now.

Installed a Cobb and on Stage 1 Sport, get Cylinder 6 misfire.. Getting all plugs and affected coils done tomorrow.

Just curious, with 98oct fuel in Australia, would it be safe to run the aggressive maps (ST or LT?) or just stick with Sport? (Car is otherwise stock).

Thanks in advance!

I run Sport permanently. No problems. Aggressive once in a while just to scare the bird on the weekends. No problems. vpower 98 or vortex 98.
Btw a change of plugs was all I needed. Still running my original coils.
Thanks skycat!

Thanks for the info all..

I replaced all the plugs, however still had a cylinder 6 misfire. Swapped out the coil - Bingo!

I'm just running the Sport ST and so far so good... I did notice it holds gears a lot longer when backing off boost in 'D'.. As in, on the standard map, if I floor it and release, it's quick to shuffle into a cruising gear (5th or 6th), however now, it'll hold 3rd or 4th (at high revs) after I've backed off completely (rolling) and eventually (5-8 seconds) bump up a gear or two. Normal??

I only had a chance to give it two quick runs, so will see how it goes tomorrow.

I'm lazy and don't want to hurt my delicate hands uninstalling and reinstalling a piggyback every trip to the dealer so my extended warranty stays intact. I also live in the bush so there's no one to pay to do it for me.

Ease of use, Similar gains to the other offerings (might be a little less, but it's only ever street driven so more than enough), easy to undo (no need to even pop the hood), etc..
