The originals are just too RED.
In addition, the originals have an odd L shape, while the blacklines have a straight line and cleaner look.

I like them! I might consider this mod.

If this is an OEM part, can you just order your car with them? I have not taken delivery yet. Don't want to drop another $200+ if I do not have to.

Problem with blackline

I have now installed blacklines and it looks great! I followed the DIY thread and it was easy. But I have one problem, the backup light isn`t working Everything else is working except the backup light... Does anyone know what can be wrong??

Try swap the bulbs from L to R. That may help.

Does the light work with the OEM lights plugged back in?

Great FAQ thread. I've had them on since early 2006. I prefer the amber blinkers.

Wonder what is going to happen with the anticiated switch to LED tail lights for MY09. Will have to wait and see, but planning an '06 to '09 upgrade next year.

Blacklines on E93

Can someone help me out. I just picked up a brand new E93 (335i, loaded, Barbera Red) and am interested in Blacklines. Would I order the same ones for an E92 or E91 for my E93?
THANKS for the help!!

Sorry bro, blacklines are for the sedan/wagon only. No coupes or verts.

That Sucks!

Thanks. Explains why I couldn't find them. Given the two doors (well mostly the Coupe) are devoured by the "Mod Squad," you'd think the blacklines would be in heavy demand on those models.

"I posted regarding this problem .... all the lights work properly ... any suggestions?"

I removed each bulb, reseated, and then found that one of the tail light mounting units was slightly loose. I reseated it and the problem went away.

I dont know if anyone else has asked this question before but why couldn't BMW make them standard on all e90's? They look so much better. one of my friends on this forum said that it was because the European motor code didn't aprove of it or something like that... anyway, does anyone know why?

I'd like to take a moment to flame myself...

In a different thread, I wrote:

Now, mind you, I had only seen blacklines in photos. Had never seen them in person until yesterday. WOW! I couldn't have been more wrong. Saw a black 330i with em and was very pleasantly surprised. Definitely on my short list of future mods (although with a home renovation in progress and a baby on the way, it may be a while).

If anyone out there doesn't care for the look of blacklines in photos, do yourself a favor and find someone local that has em to see for yourself.
