Has anyone lightly tinted the tail lights on an e92?

I really like the deep red look of the lci tail lights and the f10 tail lights.. i feel like the pre-lci's are more of a bright red

Has anyone smoked them really lightly? or done any tints or anything?

Please share pictures

thanks

I don't think "smoking" them will do the trick. I suggest polish the glass first, then tint with a darker shade of red and see if that works. Better yet, try to use a film instead of paint as it's reversible.

I think he wants more red and less 'orange red', kinda like Normal Ferrari red on F1 cars today, not Ferrari dayglo red of Schumacher days (if you get the F1 reference, it's been a while!).

I think newer lights look redder, but going dark ruby would be a totally different look. Personally never a fan, looks too "90s".

Mine are have a light smoke on them, they are dark red now. Here are some pics. this is the lightest smoke the shop had, said people usually use them on their headlights to make them a little darker. They are light, and just the pefect amount of darkness for me.

Lamin-X currently does not have a pre cut with the reverse lamps cut out. You could always uses a sharp knife and remove that section of the tint.

When it's light like this, it looks fine.
