Why do the dome lights turn off?
So here's another question where the manual fails to answer. Why does the dome light turn off after a few seconds when the car is running and the door open? I.e. Jump out at the mail box? The footwell lights stay on, but the main dome light is off. Kind of annoying when you jump back in and want to read the mail...you have to turn the reading map light on. Hitting the main switch just turns the footwell lighting on and off. Just thought this was weird and don't know why BMW did this. What's the logic?
