I would just try and get whatever is available!!!
They are both excellent tyres and get cracking reviews. I settled with Wintrac's because they were available in the right sizes and at the right price when I wanted a set. Performace is ten times better - they really do instill some confidence which you need when trying to transfer 420bhp through the rear wheels in snow |

As per M3-Fast, I got the Wintracs because they cAme in the correct size/ratings. The Nokians get as good a reviews as the Wintracs so either would be a huge improvement over summer rubber.

I've had the Nokians on for about a month now and they get a big thumbs up from me. In the wet they are way way way more grippy than the bridgestone run flats! In all the snow we had the last 2 weeks I haven't got stuck once.

got my vreds 3 days before the big freeze. Long range weather forecast got things spot on, pity the government agencies are so pathetically inept. Vreds gripping car to the road like shit on Clegg/Cable. Can't recommend them highly enough. Now for some cheap summers now that the big thaw is here....

Nokians here.........
very pleased & better than expected. I'm certain that I would have been just as pleased with lots of others too. Paid £480 delivered for 4 (225/45/17's) but could have spent nearer £800. I was going to go for Avon's @ £95 but they were all sold out so £120 was worth it overall compared to other tyres that out performed the Nokians in Auto express test. Car will probably only cover 3k miles if that, over winter, but it's nice to know the weather won't stop me from going out & should last me at least 5 years so they are already paying for themselves as the summer tyres are tucked away for the next 4 months. I think that any winter tyre is going to be a vast improvement especially if you have those awful bone shaking 19" run flats Beer o clock now & then a curry for later......................... |
